Body Shuffle Manga Script (Pixiv Fanbox)

Story plan for a new Body Shuffle story focused around a main character down on his luck and his friends marriage.

Story Plan:

A single man, Kichirou, gets dumped for the 9th time, he’s complaining about it whilst drinking with his friend, Houjou and Houjou’s wife, Shiori. They decide to leave first after hearing him out for a while, Kichirou sticks around to drink some more. Time passes, more drinks appear on the table/bar.

Kichirou begins to leave, stumbling a bit, and meets a shady guy in a nearby alley. The guy offers him a new life for a small price, drunk and without a care in the world he accepts. The shady guy hands him an incense and tells him to light it tonight, the instructions are included. Kichirou looks over the incense whilst the guy comments on having sold another to a young woman earlier that night. He returns home stumbling to his messy apartment and tries out lighting it. Not having any idea what it actually does, he just goes to sleep. A clock in the bg or on the side says 3:43am.  

Kichirou quickly awakens in a dark world of nothing but doors. Bewildered in the world of doors and believing it to be a dream, he walks about but isn’t sure how to wake up. He ends up just picking a door and entering it.

Kichirou is inside of Shiori’s body from this point onwards, He is always visually Shiori but can be a ghost in his true appearance in reflections or beside Shiori with the same pose or expression. 

Kichirou wakes up alone under the covers of a double bed, in a bedroom he doesn’t recognise. (A clock in the room says 13:40 or something similar). 

Kichirou quickly discovers his new body, that of a woman with a large pair of breasts blocking his downward vision when he lifts up the covers of the bed. 

After a brief self inspection of fondling her boobs and feeling the lack of a penis (with perhaps some other feeling up of his new body). He notices a full-length mirror in the room, he gets out of bed and stands in front of it. Houjou and Shiori argued immediately after leaving him at the bar about why she had to come along. They ended up going home separate ways. On her way back, Shiori met the same shady guy, who also offered her a chance at a new life. She hesitantly brought it from him. 

Skips to her getting home. Shirori walks in the door and after seeing Houjou, they argue again in the living room. Shiori has the last word and tells him she doesn’t want him in the bedroom, he can sleep on the sofa for the night. Inside the bedroom, she decides to light the incense the shady man gave her, she goes over the instructions but doesn’t understand it and goes to sleep thinking maybe she’ll feel better in the morning. The same clock in the room from before shows 3:36am. End of memory.  

Kichirou thought Houjou’s regular boasting meant they had a happy marriage but he realizes from Shiori’s memories that wasn’t the case. Kichirou discovers Houjou is extremely lazy, regularly ignores Shiori’s requests and complains that she’s the problem, etc. Kichirou can see from her perspective it's entirely Houjou’s fault for making no attempt in their marriage and just wants an obedient wife to do what he says. 

Kichirou sticks Shiroi’s face out of the bedroom door and his new husband, Houjou, still laying in the living room quickly notices and asks if he can sleep in the bedroom again tonight. Kichirou gives Houjou a look of disgust and returns to the bedroom, closing the door without giving an answer. With some muffled complaining behind the door, reality sets in for Kichirou that their marriage is now his problem as he’s taken Shiori’s place. 

Kichirou slumps to the floor leaning back on the door and reflects on his situation (that he’s now married to his friend who's a terrible husband) whilst looking at Shiori’s wedding ring. 

He takes it off and chucks it across the room thinking this isn’t how he wanted to get married. Kichirou briefly thinks about getting a divorce before deciding it’s too heavy of a subject to think about right now. 

He remembers about the shuffle incense, spotting it inside the room but thinking about it further from what happened inside the door. He realizes he won’t easily be able to get his life back because each shuffle is a randomized shift with no guarantee whoever got his body will be shuffling again too. Going again and risking another random shuffle may end up even worse for him, he imagines waking up as a prisoner or elderly man.

Shiori’s phone lights up and starts buzzing on the side. He picks it up to have a look. Kichirou sees messages from a group chat of girls chatting about going on a night out, Kichirou decides the best thing to do is get pissed again. 

Using her fingerprint to unlock the phone, he texts them back saying he’ll go along with them, much to their surprise. Show POV of him typing the message with her fingers? Before seeing their surprised responses (shown on the phone), his stomach growls and he decides to get a bite to eat. Kichirou drops the phone on the bed showing the surprised response messages to the reader as he leaves the bedroom.

Having visited their home before, Kichirou at least knows where the kitchen is without issue but forgets he now has an annoyed husband in the house as he exits the bedroom still in her night clothing.  Houjou asks again if he can return to the bedroom to which Kirchiou agrees this time only to follow up with that he’ll be going out for the night with “the girls”. 

Houjou gives him an irritated expression but begrudgingly sits on the sofa and watches TV. Kichirou gets a bite to eat and finishes eating at the table. 

Timeskip to later that evening, Kichirou is struggling to get dressed into a party dress. He follows Shiori’s memories but decides to make a few adjustments to his own taste, a sexy dress, more cleavage, etc.

The guy points to a love hotel, Kichirou laughs and agrees to go, thinking to himself it’d be funny to see the guy’s reaction when he realizes Kichirou is actually a dude too. They enter together from the street. 

Cut to a hotel room, the guy says he’ll shower first. Kichirou slumps himself on the bed and thinks about how long it’s been since he’s gone to a hotel as himself. You can see the guy's shadow in the semi transparent window separating the bathroom and bed. The guy exits the shower in nothing but a towel covering his lower half and tells Kichirou it’s her turn. Kichirou strolls past the guy giving him a smile. 

Inside the bathroom Kichirou’s greeted with Shiori’s reflection in the mirror. Kichirou quickly remembers he’s now biologically a woman as Shiori, groping her body in confirmation. The guy asks if everything’s okay, Kichirou replies it’s fine and quickly starts stripping to enter the shower to buy himself some time to think about it.

By going to sleep with it you enter a group dream where with various souls into a door world where entering a door takes you into someone else's body.
