Hello everyone,

I feel like living the same situations over and over again. It was already the case with Slice of School as there were tons of bugs linked to the fact that the game was new and we needed to implement a lot of new scripts/elements, but once again, the testing session lasted waaaaaaaay too long.

Back in SoV2 days (to give you an idea), a bug testing session lasted a big afternoon and that was considering I was spending most of that time correcting the spelling mistakes I spotted.

Here? I've just spend 4 full days doing script correction with Hime. There were so many things to correct that I even had to skip some dialogues to be able to deliver on time. I'm fed up like I've hardly been with testing. But as much as it's a pain to the ass, I gotta admit that it's worth it. I don't want to criticize my old games too much but when I work on TH2 I feel like I'm working on a really stepped up project. So all the time we're spending on finetuning, polishing etc... definitely makes a difference (even if many of you won't see those elements ^^')

When the brothel will be reworked properly, and we'll have finished finetuning the last elements needed (notably the option and save/load menu), The Hunter 2 will be a really great looking game :)

Anyway, this update is BIG. Like... If there wasn't the update with the brothel, that update would've been the biggest ever. If you count size of updates just based on H scenes or pic, then yeah it's the biggest (check the changelog if you want to see.)

Talking about the changelog it's HUGE. I've never made so many updates/addition in a single update. If you're not used to read it, this time it might really be interesting cause I'm sure some things can easily be missed if you don't check it.

Want a proof we added tons of things? Let me give you a part of it randomly:

New huge area added, 96 new pics, new outfit for dungeon and battles, 11 quickies, 7 H scenes, new inventory UI with icons, outfit crafting mechanic, 50 save slots, 19 new pixel characters, 10 new NPCs, minimap corrected, 7 new quests, 14 new maps, persistant data handling (for saving content throughout save files)...

And there's more...

So yeah, that's not a small update.

You have to be aware of a couple of things, though.

- Due to the amount of things to do, there are polishing elements that were left on the side for the next update. As such, there are probably missing bubbles on triggerable elements, the new maps have close to 0 background interactions (unless meant to get an item), tutorial pages for new mechanics haven't been done and quest bubbles haven't been implemented. The Quest log should help you a lot to clear them, though.

- As always, there can be compatibility problems with old saves. That being said, normally, if you have a save BEFORE hiring Tambara, everything should be good. If your save is after, then it's no good. As I always say, save on different slots! (there are 50 now, so no excuses.) There is ONE point that can be very problematic and can be done much earlier than that: the first scene between Aren and Catherine. BUT, if you've activated in your save, there's a special trigger on the map (it's glittering, don't worry) that acts as a sort of debug mode. Triggering it will allow people who have a save BEFORE hiring Tambara but AFTER Aren/Catherine scene to have values tweaked properly so that the Catherine content can continue. You just need to spend a day at the brothel.

- Talking about the Brothel. As you know, the next update will mainly be about reworking it. That's why the current state of the brothel hasn't changed and the new girls won't appear. BUT, the two girls you can hire on that update will be registered in your save file for later so don't worry, they'll be unlocked in the new brothel. The other thing about the brothel is that we've added a temporary sparkle allowing you to move on to the next day instead of having to trigger the brothel every time.

- The game also starts to spread side quests being possibly done at any time so it's near impossible to me to test all the order possibilities, so there might be bugs I missed on that side.

- Lastly, this update started implementing the concept of passing days. Sometimes, you'll need to wait a certain amount of day for something to happen (there's no penalty to wait MORE, don't worry). Other times, you'll have NPCs having different positions/actions depending on the day. To give you an example that isn't in the game, Halcyon can have 2 possible positions. Position 1 is in her room and position 2 is behind the brothel desk. There are 2 possible values so every new day a number between 1 and 2 is generated randomly and she'll be where the value decides her to be. It might look a bit stiff cause it's the beginning of the game so there are many characters that will have that change of path leading you to change day often, but the goal is that as the games progress there are so many characters that can possibly change that just changing one day will lead to enough variations to wander around. Don't worry, I don't plan on making ultra high possibilites like 1 chance out of 10.

You'll understand that considering the range of condition it implies, I'm sure some of you will fall on bugs due to that game mechanic. But that's the price to pay to have a more lively game ^^'

One very last note: Unfortunately I won't be available (like AT ALL) tomorrow and Tuesday (hence why I REALLY needed to release the update today), so if you guys find bugs, I won't be able to fix them before Wednesday. Hopefully there shouldn't be anything game-blocking.

Am I not supposed to be able to progress after getting the zombie dog to rank E?

Game is quite cool but: 1) Tutorial about brothel do not state that i have to stay before notebook and pres space i try to click on it which is natural for rpgm and it do not work ive loose 10 min to figure it out 2) In brothel screnn you cannot use mouse thats f..kin very bad. And whats even more bad UI that you make highlight for active selection with white colour which is very hard to see couse other elements are in similar colour. Change that to green or sth. Again game is cool so this is just critiq to make it better :)
