The Hunter v0.25 is now out!

Hello everyone,

I have so many things to say I don't even know where to start... Let's start by a confession: I cut corners. At the moment I'm writing those lines, it's been almost 3 weeks I've been testing the game. This is BY FAR, the longest testing session I've ever done. I'm just beat. So I was originally planning to add the missing H content after my testing session because I wanted to start it earlier. I NEVER expected it to last so long. As such, I decided to delay that H content to the next update so I could release this one today (otherwise, it would've been almost another week of wait.)

Usually when a game needs to be tested, I can take an old save. If there are really major changes, I can start the game all over. Considering this update it was evident I had to start all over. But heck... Even though I know where to go and what to do, my final save shows a 4h of game. And before reaching it... Oh boy...

The brothel, the pixel gallery, the new combat visuals... So many elements that needed tons of corrections. Sometime requiring Hime, who wasn't always available so I had to wait because I was stuck in my own game -_- Don't let the changelog betray you. There's like what... 15? 20 bug correction? Add correction of stuff that weren't originally planned (new brothel etc...) and you can multiply this number by 4 or 5. It's the first time that I'm not exhausted by the dev of an update but its testing. So once again, I apologize for the delay and I apologize for cutting corners.

Now, on the brighter side of things. Well, I did play the game. More than necessary. And you know what? The brothel is MUCH more interesting. Hell, even I got caught in the game of fighting, getting my tokens, and trying to raise them :p

I hope you'll enjoy it too, because I can definitely say that this revamp was necessary. And I find that the final result is good.

The new battle is cool too. It's not totally finished, we need to polish some things, but I like it better. Even more now that Kaya's limit has been implemented! :D The first limit is already in her movement kit but there will be others during the dev.

To be totally honest, I really don't feel like enumerating all the things this update contains. Paradoxically, the update is pretty low in terms of story content. The rest needed so much focus that the new content is quickly done. But if you look at the changelog, you'll see it doesn't mean we didn't work. New maps, new icons, new animations, new/revamped tutorials, lots of QoL improvements (No more difficulty system, new floating icon system, shortcuts added...). The brothel works so well in terms of money increase that it fits perfecly the future needs you'll have in the game.

I'm not talking about the "polish" elements that were not prioritary yet I added. Like the characters in Frank's bar all have a seated version now. Or Biserka has her own version of pixel animation if she's spending the night in the brothel.

Talking about polishing, this is just the beginning. I have a little txt file called "To do List". Everytime I see something that can be improved I note it there. Let me give you a couple of examples so you can get an idea of what I write in it.

- Change music when first meeting Biserka

- Change the pic of Kaya leaving with the bike

- Correct the ending of axing animation

- Add the stray dog in the homeless camp

- Give Jeanette's zombie a faceset

See, those are minor things that I want to do but I postpone because the rest is more important. The list was roughly 20 lines at the beginning of the testing. There's now 72 points to work on (knowing that I did a couple of them during the testing so it was probably closer to 80 at some point :x)

My goal is to be able to complete those 72 points during the future updates I've shown you. As I said in my previous post, starting the next update, there won't be any big scenario progress. Only side quests, H content and improvements. I'll have occasions to come back in details on those in the future. For now, I just want you to enjoy this update. I STRONGLY invite you to read the Changelog, even if it's not your thing, just so you can see all the things that have been done.

I think this is by far the biggest update ever done for one of my games. Sure in terms of H content it pales in comparison to some of the biggest H updates of SoV2 but overall, this is a big improvement.

I think I already mentioned it at some point but of course, due to the extremely late nature of the release, I'm directly releasing it for the $10 tier. The pre-release will come back starting next update.

As for the $15 tier, I'm making an exception and I'll give you the pack I gave to the $25 tier in December: it contains everything that should have been in this update (so even the cut content that is delayed to the next update.) Take it as a token of apology.

I'd like to mention one last thing. You know I love you all. But please, just this once: report bugs in the comments or on Discord. Because among the bugs I corrected during my journey, there are some that have been around for long and which were so crazy that it literally felt that no one ever played the game (like game crashing while opening a door or stuff like that...). The amount of bugs present from older versions kinda depressed me. So please, make you you tell me if you find some. Even just one D:

Thank you.

I hope you'll enjoy it! I'll take a couple of days to rest (I'll still be around for bugs, don't worry), then I'll work on a small patch for Slice of Venture 2 (just for bug correction.) And after that, I'll start working on the next update and I'll make posts to detail what will be worked on.

See you everyone! o/
