The Hunter 2 v0.28 is now out! (Pixiv Fanbox)
Content
Hello everyone,
I'm not going to beat around the bush, I've already said it in previous posts, but this release is the smallest I've ever done. But at the same time it's also the quickest. To be honest, I did that update because of how things were turning out in terms of schedule and all but I'm not fan of having to rush a few things in without taking the time I need ^^'
While I had a bit more than a month to release this update, I spent most of my time making renders for both this update, the next one, and future ones. Even though I spent much more time than usual with renders, I haven't done all the renders I need for v0.29 ^^' (I've done roughly 75% of them.) You will quickly understand why v0.28 is so small when you'll see the amount of pics in v0.29 :p
The other thing that took me more time than usual is my Blue Axolotl Edition thing. Normally I do that on the evening after working but this time around, there was more to deal with as the artist we're working with is planning to be at Comiket so we had more work than usual.
All in all, I had less time than usual both in terms of dev time and side things to do. So this update only contains 3 new H scenes (I say "only" but some previous versions had 3 or 4 scenes in their updates so I guess it's fine :p) and a single new side quest revolving around Kaya's teacher job.
I focused on small things to complete, like the possibility to sell cum to Betty in the Tea Salon, having the encyclopedia integrated, updating the "Character" menu or having title screens featuring the remaining outfits of Kaya (Some of those require going back earlier in the game to be unlocked. There's nothing game blocking but if you really want to unlock all those things, please, check the Changelog.) Many of those things are now implemented but are not visually finite. Updating the look of all those new elements will be one of the goal to reach before the end of the year. Even the progression bar we've taken from SoV2 doesn't look good for now so we'll have to improve it.
For the first time though, there are so few additions that using an old save shouldn't be that much of a problem. There WILL be bugs. But those are mostly graphical ones (we're aware of some of those, for example, the reputation amount bar in the brothel has been fixed but for it to work you have to build the Tea Salon in the v0.28. But if you don't do it, it's not a problem. It'll show 0 and that's all, nothing to fret over.)
Another thing: one of the thing added in that update is the access to the prison in Lost Town. Originally it was supposed to be open right from the start but for different reasons I left it closed. Now it's open and you'll face a possible scene that will NOT happen because of Kaya's stats (too low.) You'll have to start getting used at seeing possible scenes that are not available in the current update. It's going to happen more and more because I can't make all the scenes available as soon as the context is ready otherwise the whole stat gameplay means nothing. So don't try to find a way to raise your courage by 15, it's impossible (and if you cheat, it's useless, nothing's coded yet anyway...)
So here's the plan. The next two updates are supposed to be pretty big. They'd roughly be released around the end of September/Early October for v0.29 and before Christmas for v0.30. My goal is to make sure that everything that is still in progress in the game (the brothel, some UI elements, visual/small bugs, battle elements etc...) is completely finished by v0.30. I want v0.30 to be a huge step in the dev of the game. I'll have the time to detail what I envision for those two updates, don't worry. There are still tons of mini things to do/correct so it's going to take time but I want all that finished by the end of the year.
Oh, and here's the game btw :p

I hope you'll enjoy this update. Feel free to tell me here or on Discord if you find bugs (there will probably be, my testing session was extremely fast this time.)
I'll see you somewhere around next week so I can start to reveal things about v0.29 because I do have a bunch of things to talk about :)
