In this article, I’d like to share the line art for “Yamada and Natsuki: Part 2” and talk about the production process.

・Why I decided to try Ichaicha-love, and why I wrote a continuation

To start from the beginning:

when I posted my previous full-on lovey-dovey work on X, I think quite a few people were caught off guard.

After all, up until now, I've mainly made works in genres like "heroine in peril" and "NTR."

It was probably like some restaurant that's built its whole reputation on rich, heavy ramen suddenly rolling out a homemade chocolate parfait... 😨

So even I wasn't sure what kind of reaction I'd get, and honestly I was a little anxious about it. But thankfully it was well received, so I ended up feeling relieved — that's the backstory.

More than anything, I honestly don't really remember why I decided to draw this kind of manga in the first place (probably I wanted to know if there was any demand for ichaicha-love made by me), but the big discovery was that once I actually tried drawing it, I found it incredibly fun.

It ended up being unexpectedly enjoyable, and the response was great too — it was the best experience.

And since there's demand, drawing a sequel became my mission! 😤

So I was on the hunt for ideas for what to draw next.

Then one day, the image of Natsuki working a part-time job suddenly popped into my head.

Next came the image of her showing some cleavage, and at that point the concept for this manga was basically complete.

・The concept behind this manga

A common trope in ero-manga is some kind of fictional item that gives a man an excuse to have sex with a woman against her will — things like a "hypnosis app" or a "sex permit." Those kinds of items are, in a way, a form of male fantasy given shape.

It's not that I wanted to make some kind of counter-statement to that, but it occurred to me that it might be interesting to have that kind of item show up in the story, while having the plain, mutual love between a man and woman ultimately overcome it — or just render it irrelevant.

I think that's become the concept of this manga, or maybe more like a bit of seasoning on top. In a way, those items end up just being a stepping stone toward the ichaicha-love.

So even though Yamada is egged on by that "armband," in the end he never actually forces Natsuki into sex because of it.

And he wouldn't use it on some popular idol on TV, or some beautiful woman he passed on the street — not now, and not in the future either.

Because the only person Yamada has eyes for is Natsuki, and the two of them already love each other. 😍

・Going forward

I don't have a next idea for this particular manga yet.

There are tons of other things I want to draw too, so I'll probably be working on a different manga for a while.
