Some progress shots + timelapse of my recent piece!

Now that I see it afterwards I see a lot of places I want to fix...maybe later though haha





I've been studying a bit whenever I have the chance or before I get started on work for the day and I think I'm finally starting to understand....the path of an artist is just endless learning I love it haha

It's a bit rough when trying to decide when to stop when it comes to post editing some works though.... I kinda like this one without a lot of the color adjustments too but the overal emotion I want to convey comes off better after the edits...choices choices!

I think it ends up being similar to editing photographs where I can leave it as close to the original take, or I can adjust until I get the results that convey the message a bit better...

Posted this on bluesky, but it was quite interesting to me how much my art changed over the 6~7 years haha

I think the difference really makes me remember how I was not in the best place back when I drew the first piece back in 2019(?) or so, but despite everything, I didn't quit and I didn't compromise what I believed in which allowed me to be where I am today.... so I'm always really thankful!!!

I drew this quickly (~4hrs) to use it for something, I'll probably be able to say afterwards!

I'm such a lucky and blessed person that I am able to do something I love, so I want to give back to society somehow some way...!

You're really spoiling us with posts lately! it's truly amazing how even though all your art looks amazing to me you always keep improving, I guess that's how it works with something as subjective as art, as you said you could probably keep polishing any illustration forever and still never be truly happy with it in the end so you have to find your own balance. I'm truly lucky to be able to watch you grow over the years

It's very interesting to see the changes over the years, not necessarily just in quality but also in the mood! I know the struggle with editing photographs... While I'm by no means a photographer or any good at it, I do enjoy it, but then I end up getting lost in details when trying to edit some of my photos XD Is one ever truly a master of one's own craft? (I think you are honestly but I get wanting to keep learning). It's good to keep learning, that's a good way to go through life in general!

I remember thinking to myself how much I enjoyed the colors in both pieces, but thinking the older drawing being set in a snowy area both due to how the background looked and how you were bundled and huddled up. The contrast to the new one you did yesterday, where everything is much more vibrant and you're not only standing with your arms open, but with the perspective looking up into a sky instead of downwards into the ground, makes everything feel far warmer and closer to that of a spring day than a snowfield. While I'm not always the quickest on the uptake with art, hearing a bit of detail behind the thought put into the drawing really makes me happy to see that you're both in a better place now and way happier for it. Keep sticking to your guns Naguu, because you've been doing great and I'm always glad to see how you grow with each new piece. Wait is that a Child Queen? Princess? Prince!? This world is continuing to grow |w') (Digging the interlocking iron blood cross insignia!)

I can relate to the endless learning process. I feel like it is the same in programming, there is always something new to learn or to improve. Thank you for the timelapse and all the roughs! They look amazing. Hope I can sometime reach your level of skill in my profession, need to keep finding the time and work hard... Looking forward to the updates later!

The 2019 piece has a shyer body language while the newest one has a more outgoing feel, both are great pieces of art and both sparks joy in me when I look at them! Have been happy to follow your art for these years and excited to see how you will grow your art style. But one thing for sure, there is always a special touch that I can feel from looking at your art pieces. Ooh , a mysterious twin?/sibling enters the stage, the world grows... Thank you for the update Nagu! I think the new piece looks really great, even more so looking at the timelapse. I can't really guess what you would want to "fix" on it, but I guess when you are really deep into a piece minor issues shoot to your eye a lot more. I think the comparison to 2019 is really cool, honestly the previous one already looks good but now a similar scene is filled with a lot more colour and the colour that are present is a lot more vibrant/lively. Glad to hear that you are in a better place now and can express that through your artworks, really happy for you.

Thank you for the update, Nagu-sensei!! It was pretty cool that in this new artwork, you did the traditional lineart method like how you did in the old artwork from what i remember from the old timelapse back then(?) I think personally, the art you made is good already in the way it is, as i can see lots of the emotion you wanted to convey (= w=)b As in photo editing, leaving the photo as close as it should be is just journalism or some kind.. but edit it to fit your own intention? That's closer to cinematography(even documentaries counts here), which is closer to art, so i think the choice is quite right (= w=)b Looking forward to the occasion you'll gonna use, Nagu-sensei!! If there's something to look back and regret, then probably i wished i was engaged more with your art on twitter back in 2019, but alas, i was still in my shell back then (T wT)b I was in a FGO gaming group, and i have been seeing so many of your art people shared with your twitter link, (more below...| w=))

Hello Nagu! It's so cool to see comparisons like this, you improved a lot over the years! I think we always put a little of ourselves in everything we create, the old one was good but you take it even higher with the new one, especially the direction and feelings really shine through with those colors and the pose! Also, It's probably just me but, feels like a continuation of the old one, it's like it tells a story! And, OMG is that Queen? So Adorable!! and wait- twins?! I remember this old pieces of art was quite special, cause the art was around the time you got 100k followers back then(? may be before,may be after few days? ahh.. my memory is not good like how it used to be..) and i still think it was so cool!!And I still remember the head banner you used back then was the art you used to participate in FGO contest too, memories, memories,... Just wanna let you know that back then, everyone in the gaming group i was in was so supportive of you at that time, none has ever, like ever, think bad about you, so yeh, don't know if it's too late, but just wanna let you know that(= w=)/💛 Now at the new art, that's some impressive concept art, Nagu-sensei!! Now i understand the meaning of the crest you designed. It's like the constellation form of Gemini, right? I always feel like photos I take never quite communicate what I saw or felt, so your viewpoint on trying to capture your intended emotions through art is really touching. P/p/s: One more thing i really like about the crest is the arrow one, now that more concept is revealed. Castor and Pollux (the Gemini constellation) are also the patron for sea travel, so the arrows looking like compass sound clear to me now (= w=)9 Can't wait to hear more details about the lore!! You keep surprising me every time! I think I already love illustrations enough only to find out I love them even more than previously thought possible!
