"Woo! Wrestling day! I've been waiting for this all afternoon." Feeling the deep stretch in my shoulders, I release and begin stretching out my hamstrings.

"Olivia, we aren't wrestling. You aren't wearing a wrestling uniform. Today is volleyball practice. That's a volleyball uniform." Sarah peers mirthlessly at me as we wait around the near empty gym. I'd arrived 15 minutes early because I love gym. Sarah is just always early. An admirable trait.

"I know! I'm not dumb." I place a finger over her lips. "But Kat already sold tickets to the match, little buddy. We can't let everyone down!"

Lifting Sarah up by her armpits, I walk her over to the midcourt-line at the center of the gym. A few other early birds have begun streaming in, many of them aren't even in the upcoming class. My audience.

"Little buddy?! Wait, match? I didn't agree to—. " Sarah's continues repeating my words back to me in a questioning tone, it begins flowing through one ear and out the other.

Depositing her onto the far side of my makeshift wrestling arena, I take a few steps back to my corner.

"We're doing full-contact, okay? You bring your mouth guard?"

Sarah looks at me confused.

"No, I didn't bring my mouthguard. Because we're supposed to be playing volleyball today!"

I sigh. "Focus, Sarah! I like volleyball too, but we can't let it distract us from what's important here."

"And what's that? You, humiliating me in front of a crowd... again?"

Oh. So, she is focused after all. She always was quick to pick up on these things.

"Pretty much. Ding ding! There goes the bell!"

Sarah quickly assumes a defensive stance as I charge.
