【#01】日記のような雑記～ゆるっと始まるラクガキ日記～ (Pixiv Fanbox)

みなさん、こんにちは！

今日の雑記は最近作業しながら考えている「キャラクターデザイン（キャラデザ）」について、少し深掘りして書いてみようと思います。

作品を作っていると「どんなキャラが魅力的かな？」「どんなギャップがあると刺さるかな？」と常に考えているのですが…

今回は完全に自分の個人的なフェチ・好みの話をぶっちゃけてみます。

ヒゲキャラの魅力

まず、やっぱり昔から根強く好きなのが「ヒゲ」のあるキャラクターです。

渋さや大人っぽさはもちろんですが、ちょっとした無精髭の生々しさや、年相応の哀愁・包容力が出せるのがたまらないんですよね……。描いていてもシルエットや表情のバリエーションが広がってすごく楽しいパーツです。

「真面目×本能」のギャップ

そしてもう一つ、個人的に大好物なのが「普段は真面目で理性的だけど、エッチなとき（あるいは極限状態）に本能が勝ってしまう」タイプのキャラクターです。

普段はきちんとしていて、ルールや理性を重んじるキャラクターほど、理性が崩れて本能に抗えなくなる瞬間のギャップが最高に響きますよね……。

「理性で抑えようとしているのに、どうしても欲求に勝てない」という葛藤や表情を描くのが本当に好きで、自分の作品でもこういう要素はどんどん突き詰めていきたいなと思っています。

In today’s blog post, I’d like to dive a little deeper into “character design,” something I’ve been thinking about while working lately.

When I’m creating a work, I’m constantly asking myself, “What kind of characters are appealing?” and “What kind of contrast would really resonate with people?”…

But this time, I’m going to be completely honest and talk about my personal fetishes and preferences.

The Appeal of Bearded Characters

First off, I’ve always had a deep-rooted love for characters with “beards.”

Of course, there’s the rugged charm and maturity, but what I find irresistible is the raw realism of a slight stubble, along with the melancholy and warmth that come with age… It’s a feature that really expands the range of silhouettes and expressions I can draw, making it a lot of fun to work with.

The “Serious × Instinct” Contrast

Another personal favorite of mine is the character type who’s “usually serious and rational, but whose instincts take over during intimate moments (or in extreme situations).”

The more a character is usually proper and values rules and reason, the more the contrast—that moment when their rationality crumbles and they can no longer resist their instincts—really resonates…

I really love depicting the inner conflict and expressions of “trying to hold back with reason, but just can’t overcome their desires,” and I plan to keep exploring this element more and more in my own work.
