Hinata is hard at work as a detective again today.
She was spotted on the riverbank of a small town.
“I’m pretty sure I heard it was around here.”
This case involved finding an item the client had lost on this very riverbank.
Hinata had already checked with the police, but since nothing had been turned in, she decided to search the area herself.
However, despite searching thoroughly, she couldn’t find the item the client mentioned, and as dusk was falling, she decided to head back to her lodging for the night.
Just then, something long and slender lying at her feet caught her eye.
“A snake!? Wait, eww!”
Hinata instinctively stepped back, but her foot slipped, and she tumbled down the riverbank’s slope.
“Ugh… I did it…”
Ochre-colored mud had accumulated at the bottom of the riverbank, and Hinata’s foot had slipped down, sinking almost to her knee.
When she sat down on the slope and lifted one leg with both arms, her boot was completely stained ochre.
“What am I going to do about this on the way home…”
Faced with this unexpected mishap, Hinata slumped her shoulders.

The fifth supporter-submitted post for August features Hinata in a muddy swamp—her first in quite a while.
I realized I hadn’t drawn any illustrations of her in a swamp recently, so I asked for one this time.
Every now and then, I see yellowish-brown—or rather, orange—mud on riverbanks, and I actually really like that kind of bright-colored mud, so I’d like to draw it again sometime.
See you next time.
