Pearly's Salon: 0.2 Devblog #4 (Pixiv Fanbox)

Hello again, Happy Lunar New Year

I wish I got something thematic to celebrate that but I figure a meaty update is good enough to keep you dear supporters sated :')

Roadmap 0.2 Progress

I can say I'm somewhat 70-80% there to the 0.2 update, most of the assets are done, mainly the new portraits and client graphics.

Whats left are mostly on the event programming side, having to reconfigure every event to fit the new graphics as well as adding/changing some features,

So expect some things got moved around.

If I were to put a number on it, it would be as follows:

- Additional graphics for the characters [90%]

- Shorn hair appearing on the cape and floor [FINISHED]

- Back Mirror [FINISHED]

- Pearly's haircut [FINISHED]

- Reward balancing [FINISHED]

- Reworking the fail conditions [60%]

+ Haircut system rework [70%]

On to some previews, sorry for the blurs coz I'm saving it till the next demo build for you guys.

Character Arts

I have already debuted Pearly-Chan's portrait some times ago, for now her variations are simple (but there are more besides shown below) until I figured the "expression" system setup

and the assistant will be a character you have seen before, here's NurAin, as the salon assistant/student part-timer

and like Pearly, she too have her variations, perhaps even more.

For now in the upcoming build 0.2, she will serve the same purposes, giving tips and such.... mostly. huhu

and now, the one that took the most out of me, the clients expansion:

Bodytypes come in 3 "sizes": slim, avg and thicc-ish

Plus 3 boobs sizes as well: Small, Medium, Large (I cant cup size)

and they are separate from body types so there's more variations

Of course each with the 3 skin colors as before, perhaps slightly reworked

And there's a hell lot more to come, but without spoiling, I can share one more preview of the client's graphic rework/expansion:

More HAIRSTYLES, which you can unleashe on your clients someday, whether they want it.... or not. ;)

Hair Collection System:

A little more about this system

The idea is that depending how much hair is cut per client, certain amount of hair drops on the salon floor.

The you hafta sweep up each individual hair tiles and it'll goes into your inventory

Then you can dump each type of hair into their respective bins, each bins will start to spill out the more you dump in them

There is a certain game mechanic I'm experimenting here, tho for the upcoming 0.2 build, only the basic version of this feature will be implemented, and only with black hair, coz I have yet to include hair colors for the client portrait.

Rent (and Fail) System:

A lil pressure for the players besides messing up the client's request, every couple weeks the landlord (yet to be personified, Im just meme'ing using Ditkovich) will come by the salon to demand a certain amount of $$$, which for now its fixed

But what if you fail to meet that quota? well, that is for you to find out eventually, haha.

Anyways, that is the updates for now, most of the development the past weeks have been on scripting, drawing assets and a little bit gameplay experiment.

Like seriously that is a lot of layers TAT

I hope I can finish the early version of it someday soon so you guys can play it and give your thoughts.
