Hey all! Updates have been a little slow and in the meantime I thought I'd post a little QnA here for those of you that can't make it out to the patron discord server. 

If you have any questions about the comic/process/inspirations, or just have suggestions for stuff you'd like to see me post on here, please let me know and I'll answer as best as I can!

I don’t know what medium Gog-Agog likes to perform in, but if she’s not reciting “The Conquer Worm” by Edgar Allen Poe, she’s missing out on a great opportunity. Come to think of it, is she in any way inspired by that poem?

How long does a page ( not the huge double spreads) usually take you ? Over the course of the comic, have you developed any workflow shortcuts that might be useful to other comic creators?

This is a somewhat loaded question, so I'd like it to be known in advance that there's no underlying subtext, it's just pure curiosity. When did you decide that all of the protagonists and most of the other major players are going to be female? Was it spontaneous or planned?

How did you get your work published on Image? Looking at their page I can tell that they are actually really really creator-friendly but I'm still curious as to how you got it on trade. (Yes, I did get both of the volumes so far why do you ask)

Since you've asked about suggestions, I have one. It would be really, really nice, if you also post pages without sounds drawn on them. Would help for translations, since it takes some time to erase them and then draw over the translated ones. Perhaps too much to ask, but if you could post them here or at tumbler that would help a lot. Also voting for RebekahDayDraws's question. You draw quite a lot given the quality and amount of details. I'm curious to hear how did you manage to do this. What steps take the longest? What steps are the quickest? What do you enjoy more, sketching, lining, producing flats, or shading?

I don't want to come off hostile because I know these types of questions can get really emotional really quickly, but I'm bringing this up as a fan. There has been a lot of sexually charged imagery in the comic recently, pretty much exclusively in the Seeker of Thrones arc. In a narrative that is female-centric and prettty explicit feminist, these feel gratuitous, objectifying and unnecessary. How do you respond to this criticism?

Do you know what voices you'd put to your characters? Especially the devils since they all share the same sort of slang dialect. I was told Cio sounds like the singer Eartha Katt, but I got the impression the others have a hard Scottish accent or somewhere from the UK.

A suggestion/question: for the printed edition of the book 3, would it be possible to increase the brightness of colors a bit? Book 1 had so much darker colors compared to the webcomic that a lot of detail was lost. Book 2 was definitely an improvement, but the detail still got lost during the night or generally dark scenes...

I am in love with the way you've written your universe in KSBD, how complete and comprehensive and self-assured it is. It inspires me especially as a writer with a deep affection for religious, mythical, and occult themes. Would you be willing to talk about your writing process and the things that inspired your world? I know that's kind of a broad question... Might be better as a handful of more specific ones, but I didn't want to flood the comments, haha.

Late to the party with this one and I have a more technical question. How do devil engines work? Do they need more bound devils as fuel? And how do they make the skyships fly? Since they seem to use only sails and not have any external rockets or anything.

KSBD is a comic that delves into a lot of different cultural influences. Is there anything about the comic you feel more uncomfortable or "unsteady" writing about, from a standpoint of wanting to avoid clumsy or harmful appropriation?
