Buff, scarred Alison has been replaced with scrawny, traumatized Alison.

Rose Sarafilovic

i don’t believe that this is real, I think it’s a dreamscape that Jadis made up. we wouldn’t have been shown Allison’s injured state if it were simply hand-waved away like this

zaratustra

nah it's all good, end of book, see you guys next mission

Paris Oliveros

Oh SNAP so it’s a massive debuff + time skip or it’s Jadisworld and she’s messing with Allison!

RubikTree

"...also one ingrown toenail. Fixing that was the hard part."

Penelope Coad

alison lost her sweet muscle-y bod oh nooo!!

Julia Duga

Is it just me or does it also look like Jadis did some cosmetic restructuring? Alison looks a lot more like a cross between Jadis and scrawny sword king than she used to...

Hayden Andre

Oh that last panel is BRILLIANT. The gentleness of the background landscape in contrast to the forebodingly shadowed and backlit figure of Jadis, though she has a placid smile on her face, really hits it home (to me at least) that despite her benevolence to Allison here she is definitely not to be trifled with.

Socratease

Oh dear. The body Allison worked so hard to gain, and the scars she worked so hard to accept, everything she'd started to see as "Me." Gone.

spritegeist

People are freaking out about the muscles. It would only take a few months to grow them back, probably way less with the key. What's interesting to me is that it's twice now that she's asked about the pain.

Paul W. Benis

Where is my buff Allison, Abbadon. What have you done with her.

Alexandre Peres

that's what i thought, Abbadon is going the "it would make absolutely no sense that in a world *this* magical, they couldn't regrow her limbs. instead, we're gonna do what stories don't usually do with disabled characters and explore the mental impact of such a traumatic experience, which is the part that's usually glossed over in stories" route. and I'm here for it

StereoTypo

This is a twist and I'm excited to see where it takes us!

Guy Rixon

I have the feeling that Jadis is building up to a "1000 reasons you suck" speech. Coming from an omniscient, that's going to be soul-crushing.
