It is good indeed to have the tender and feeble soul of a peasant.

A technique so secret not even Maya knew she was learning it

The sorta what feels like half hearted back pedal on how much of a bastard Mana is feels sorta out of place and weird.

It’s interesting to read that the once-God King Maya always had a tender and feeble soul. Like, I get what Abaddon is getting at, because at the end of the day, it really just highlights how much of a monster Jagganoth is. If Maya, a conqueror of worlds, can flee in fear and restart a simple life because she’s always had softness within her, then what is Jagganoth capable of? Edit: by the way, that last panel is great.

So is Maya Royalty at this point? That moment when she agrees that she has a tender and feeble peasant's soul and smiles feels like she learned the lesson Meti was trying to teach her. Although we don't know what she *now* thinks about death (or, I suppose, *whether* she now thinks about death). I also think the parallel between Maya's and Allison's journeys, which has been implicit for a while but is made explicit in the first panel here, is really interesting. Maybe the idea is that Allison has walked much of the same road that Maya did but is now going to take the next step?

So I'm seeing a pattern of people trying to convince Maya not to be a swordswoman (both Meti and Mana) and her not taking the hint

I just passed the anniversary of having wallowed in misery until I was sick with it, so this page means a lot to me.
