This episode was a hot mess... much like majority of the episodes lol. But wow, we know who is next up for eliminations and I can sense the controversy and hate comments a mile away.

I wonder what was discussed behind closed doors when mnet producers and directors were planning this season out and how they talked about each crew.

The ridiculous editing was just way too blatant. I can’t understand why they’re still tryna make the crews seem “rude” to each other when we all know it’s just not true. I do appreciate when they actually show us the crews giving real feedback/opinions though, but people still get mad from that stuff 🥴. Also the overlayed screams when they were showing Bumsup’s Saweetie performance?? I could barely hear the video or what anyone was saying 😭

I was also a bit skeptical with having the producers give their own thoughts/opinions on the crew’s performances to Saweetie, but it worked that way in past seasons. I think it didn’t feel as out of place in s1 or s2 though because with Hwasa and Jessi, their guests were their producer and CEO (I think Jessi had PSY but not 100% sure), versus this time it’s over a zoom call and the producers (as far as I know) don’t have a relationship with Saweetie. Not sure it made that much of a difference cause AG was just so strong 🤷‍♂️

they went so overboard on the cheering sound bites and they would randomly insert criticisms in the middle of bumsup video and quickly followed by cheering from the same crew that dished it out lol. What annoyed me the most was the producers reaction was LITERALLY the same for two crews. Tbh, I’m really disturbed by what’s to come… no matter what country we come from, we see the manipulation and mnet is treating dancers and viewers like we’re stupid.

I low-key don’t really have any strong thoughts about the season anymore. I’m kind of just here to watch Motiv—though I do love all the crews. I kinda wish they had done the battle mission from last season instead of the artist mission. I thought that was enjoyable, but it also makes sense that they skipped it since they didn’t do the crew previews to switch songs this time. Plus, the artist mission has kind of become a staple. I don’t know—I just feel drained as a viewer, so I can only imagine how these women feel. 😭😭

In the trailer Mnet translated what Ibuki said to "Everyone is copying Kyoka", what she said was more to "Everyone is becoming Kyoka’s lips". It was supposed to be a more neutral, even playful observation, but they translated it to copy. The word copy has a negative connotation, it changes the whole sentence completely. Sometimes i understand things can be lost in translation but that doesn't apply to Mnet with their track record of manipulation and gaslighting. We got to be wary of the subtitles too, this show is so stressful. Some korean fans brought this up the other day https://x.com/96_kyoka/status/1942960725263319053

They do that a lot where they try to do the literal translation or represent things as metaphorical when it’s not. Ruthy saying “I was unbothered” was interpreted as “I don’t care”. Some may interpret “idc” as rude or not think it’s a big deal. Ibuki’s translation is similar because imitate is synonymous to copying/the girls having the same lip color as kyoka. How viewers subjectively receives the message is more of a debate among fans lol. the dancers probably don’t care too much. But there are times where they’re completely wrong, like when Marlee said “stay in the grey” and they translated it as “let’s dance ambiguously”. even though it was translated way off, I knew what they meant

I know you’re going to burst into laugh when Marlee said “I’m going to show that we can shake it baby and shake it fast” because I lost it at that moment too. The amount of humor she has girl I can’t, why is she always came up with something so funny 😂😂😂😂😂

Also when Aliyah said “This is not Saweetie, just sweet” is lowkey giving me a throwback to season 1 which I think it’s someone from Holybang giving feedback to YGX megacrew which have the least amount of people that “This is not a mega, just me-” 🤣
