Omg you posted this just in time! I just got off of work and was looking for something to watch while I eat! 😁

JessReacts764

This literally was not posted whenever I watched the episode earlier in the day!

Yoeul Cho

Oh I just realized it's not even the full performance, it's just the chorus sections for each songs, that's so strange. 😭Hopefully they show the full version

OOOFF BANG BANG BANG! Golly, that was an adrenaline rush! This is the first Street Fighter show I have caught when it is airing live and the rush is on a different level. I am so glad you are reacting to this uncut because I really look forward to your analysis of these shows from a dancer's perspective who has knowledge about performances and the Korean industry and big names and petty politics lol.

Sasha Shvorin

I watch the live and then immediately go to see your reaction haha

wait 1 more day for better subs?

as a non dancer, i actually preferred kasper. i understand what they mean when they said that the type of dance that hash or minjun does, doesnt appeal to the public, and kpop is in, but personally, as a non dancer, when i listen to kpop, or any mainstream songs, i dont really think whoa, i would love to see a dance cover to this song. i actually prefer story telling, since im a very imaginative person and i really love aesthetics and visualization, i gravitated more towards dances like the one minjun and hash do. and especially since this season is about the directors, i got more excited about this season, because in previous seasons i really like watching their mega crew missions, seeing the biggest piece they can create. i watched the dance battles, but since im not a dancer, i cant appreciate or understand the skill someone possess, or why someone is better, or how difficult it is there for how amazing it truly is. i cant fully understand things outside my feild. while i can tell when something is off or unlikely to get chosen, like i can follow up and guess what they look at, as a non dancer i tend to follow to my liking, what style of dance i find more appealing, rather than pure skills. while there were parts i liked less in kasper routine, the overall feeling and direction, was more to my personal taste, the story line, the characters he gave, the feeling it produced, just activates my imagination and feeling more than a clean choreo. its like going to watch a play. and just based on what hash and minjun have shown so far on this show, i prefer minjun. i dont know how say it , but he just creates what i would imagine in my own head, the vibe and feeling, which is obviously down to my own personal liking. but also as the judges said, would you understand what they wanted to convey without reading the synopsis? i felt it was really clear in minjun case, and while i really enjoyed hash as well, i would be lying if i said i understood what its even about. like, feeling wise, i can tell the mood, but i cant tell what she wanted to say with it. and i do think its a fair final judgment, because she came to a very specific show to compete it, so you must also adjust yourself to it, and what is asked and wanted out of you. who will be watching it and ect.

JessReacts764

Thank you so much for sharing this! Because I’m not able you see these types of situations the way you can!

JessReacts764

I appreciate you so much! I'm happy we get to grow and navigate through these episodes together!

Rii

I hope really hope you do. Especially since you are more on the analytical spectrum of reactions. Quite a lot of context get missed this way.

Virtual TimeLine

I also really hope you wait 1 more day for better subs. Watching the episode myself with proper subs and then watching this is night and day honestly. So many things get translated poorly here. Genuinely feels like they take the Korean subs and just pull them through translate and call it a day, this way some sentences but especially names are just straight up wrong.

MiGuo

ahhh recognized some of our stage dancer friends in hash's routine!

JessReacts764

I saw that Viu has it subbed within 24 hours so I will 100% wait next time!

I think it's interesting that the "troubled" dancers mnet chooses to focus on are all foreigners. I'm sure there were multiple dancers that struggled in each group. Like you called out that huge mistake with the feature dancers and mnet showed 0 footage of them addressing it in rehearsals

deeps

omg btw at around 2:23:50 when you were impressed by the airtime, they were hyeok jung and jin ho from stage fighter (they were those two rivals that were in the contemporary group)!!! it sucks that some of these "main characters" like them didn't get any screen time but i get that there were a lot of different performances to cover so it makes sense

JessReacts764

I knew I recognized them!!! Goodness I wish they got their flowers the way some of our favorites did!

pastel de natatata

I was thrilled to see Noze! She's one of the most memorable dancers at SM and was a leader of her team, WAYB, in season 1 of SWF!

nabi

AGREED

nabi

Yesss glad we got to see them again! 🤩

I used to watch it alone at home, but watching this and seeing your reactions makes it feel like I am watching it with a friend, so it is more fun

I’m lateee late but still, lemme join the discussion. Specifically on the Hash vs Minjoon match up, as an ordinary viewer who is also a non dancer, this match is really the toughest one for me to pick a winner. I’d say it’s very neck and neck. The point that the judges made to an assumption for the winner being “Is the concept way difficult for the viewer to understand?” kinda got me feel like I don’t really buy that. Because I agree with your point that was made in another video about this challenge that even though the winning team gets to perform their show for the public, the public is still not a part of the judges for this round, so does the popularity should matter this much as a factor to determine the winner? And I also agree with your opinion in this reaction that “the public may feel like does the judges think we can’t understand complex things?” As a person who enjoys contemporary arts, I kinda want justice for Hash lol. I wouldn’t say I understand everything when I saw a contemporary, conceptual, or an arts with complex concept in general, but I can feel the BEAUTY in them. I understand that this show is aiming for the “mass” public popularity or what so ever, but to me arts or performance doesn’t have to always be easy to understand. Having something easy to digest to something very complex and has more depth is a beautiful variety of arts in any form imo. Therefore, I’d say I really respect Hash for being stable in her choice of her performance direction, because in the middle of the preparation where she was tied with Minjoon by other directors votes and she still not changing things because she wants to challenge the public with her style is so admirable. She can soften things up to be easier to digest, but is that performance gonna be something that really express her identity? Also, I find one of the judges that agree with this point being Monica is kinda funny. Because I remember in swf1 she got comments from the judges at that time saying her performance is too difficult to understand as well. 😭 I thought she would be the one cohere with Hash the most lol. I adore both Hash and Minjoon’s performances. Both have the strengths and weakness in their shows. Minjoon’s perf has a lot of memorable beautiful visuals he had created, and there’s depth in the formation and transition which I really love. I adore the last section where the dancers got divided into 3 groups and trying to bind Minjoon so much. But I also think Lips J’s presence is an undeniable huge factor that creates the impact of the show. I wonder if I would feel this much impact if the main character role isn’t played by her. (Plus, I think Minjoon addressed Lips J as “David” But to me if I didn’t know this information, I’d feel like he is the one playing “David” and Lips J is the “Goliath” instead because she has such strong presence and her gesture making her looks bigger than Minjoon.) On the other hand, while the intro and outro of Hash’s perf is stunning, I also find her middle section is a bit predictable and has less of depth in formation comparing to Minjoon’s. But what I love about Hash’s perf is she really made a good use of Minjoon’s signature choreo and put her flare into it so well. And her utilization of the stage, the lightning, the dancers and the musicality is 10/10. I love when the dancers from stage fighter perform their part so much, it matches with the music perfectly, she really made me “hear” the music. But what I love the most about her perf is how stunning it is. It’s been a week already since I watched the performance, but the unexplainable feeling I felt from Hash’s performance is still lingering in my chest. Hash’s perf was just “breathtaking” for me. Minjoon’s perf created a big impact on me and make me instantly want to stand up and applause, but Hash’s leave me with a jaw-dropping and stays in my mind longer. Either one of them can take the win, I totally think both performances deserved the W. It’s just the reason from the judges that I don’t 100% agree with. …. But overall from this ep, I’d say the best director (well, with the information mnet has shown us so far) is Back Kooyoung lol. He is so professional and that was really impressive. This episode really shows us how veteran he is. I bet anybody who watch it even if you don’t know him, can still say this man has EXPERIENCES. If I was someone who has to work with these directors, I’d say I’d want to work with Back Kooyoung or Hash the most. 🤔
