SDC6 EP 12 BATTLE COMPILATION

ok so 1 yes IT WAS SO WEIRD TO ME THAT NEGUIN WON ALL THOSE. felt like he couldve lost many of those. 2 ibuki and c got a tie with wins so they were battling for the last spot. and watching the live it looked like the hosts gave them a break maybe 20 mins in between and just interviewed some of the eliminated guys in the mean time. 3. something tells me that if ibuki wasnt last from the bottle spinning to determine order it wouldve been her in the finals vs either neguin or c bc she never lost a round to neguin and if she was higher in the order coulda taken him out sooner. 4. also there was a tie for ak and neguin but ties mean the defender wins. 5. im so sick bc IRIS WAS ON FIIIRRRRRRE THAT DAY. she was going so crazy. 6. and neguin ended his sets so soon so often i wish i saw more. 7. it wouldve been sick if ibuki and c went to the finals both past contestants vying for the crown wouldve made for and insane plot. 8. i told u the battle was LOOOOOONG i think i zoned out for some of it but it was like 8 rounds then a break then more then another break and once more. 9. after every round judges would vote and so did the audience. so at the end of each set they announce the winners for that 8 rounds. and so forth. yea it was really confusing

Always felt bad for choreographers. Past seasons always had elimination “battles” & it would weed out all the choreographers before they got to the finals unless they won every Choreo round. This season had the least choreographers competing (by a lot!) compared to past seasons so I think they started to get the memo.

The finales of SDC are always the most tiring to watch! I really wish they'd just stop with the livestream format and release a regular episode. No one wants to sit through 7-8 hours, and the compilations gives no context. There were definitely some disappointing things that could have been better if there were editing/interviews. Like Dedson not appearing and never being mentioned. Apple not making it past the choreography round was a shock. I don't think her performance would've gotten 1st but she got screwed by the audience votes. It felt like they just wanted hype performances and nothing else. Neguin winning those 5 rounds in a row didn't make too much sense but maybe with some judges' commentary we would at least know what they're thinking ahaha Despite all the legendary battlers that took part and Poppin C absolutely killing it, I wouldn't put this season as one of my favorites. There were so few choreographers that the performance weeks (cross-style challenge included) really didn't do as well. Also the locker with the guest performance participated in a couple past seasons and without too much spoilers, made it pretty far! I hope you do get a chance to watch some of the earlier seasons, if it gets included in a poll I'll be voting for it! (Anything but S5, covid screwed up their filming schedule so bad that in some episodes almost nothing happens)

Apple got shorted by the audience. The judges gave her a decent score IIRC. Audience voting has always screwed up choreographers (similar thing happened in SDC4 finals). Ah, I wish this had been Ibuki vs Popping C finals. Like Kevin mentioned already, Ibuki going much sooner would've probably gotten Neguin out sooner (though, the judging in the beginning is so questionable I don't even know. How did Popping C lose the 2nd round?????) The finals this year are pretty short comparatively. They only did 15 rounds. During the break times, Jay was shocked to hear they were doing 15 rounds, and Vanness just casually told him, dude, we did 25 rounds in the past, this is nothing LOL. I am still happy that Popping C won in the end - I don't think there's anyone this season more deserving than him (except maybe Bouboo if he didn't have the injury). Overall, I'd place this season in the solid B tier. Leagues ahead of S5, but still not quite bringing back the S3 & S4 magic. They tried to bring back the team chemistry from those seasons but I think the format changes just made it impossible to really showcase their teamwork. Even by ep. 10, I was forgetting half of the contestants on each team, and I can't even name half of the early eliminees, which is the opposite of my experience in the past. Also, unless Popping C moves out of China (which is unlikely since he started his dance academy there), I don't think this is the last we see of him on SDC. He'll probably come back at least as a mentor/judge next season.

I agree that an ibuki vs poppin c would have felt more fitting to the format of the final round…. Order plays a ROLE man…. Crazy. Hopefully an SDC season wins the poll and I can take a look at it but fear not, we will get it in the future for sure!

im keeping it short because i dont feel like ranting much... congrats to poppingc i guess, he deserved that win end of the season, some good moments some infuriating ones but overall entertaining and appreciated your commentary and input throughout the show when you check out other seasons i may tune in!
