WWE says they're not moving the Performance Center.

Reports emerged on August 27, claiming that the WWE Performance Center would be moved to Las Vegas from Orlando. WWE sources that Fightful Select spoke to that afternoon claim that is false.

The original report cited Mark Shapiro as announcing that during a meeting, which one WWE source reached out quickly to say didn't happen unless there was another meeting held. Additional sources within WWE say that Mark Shapiro did not make an announcement indicating a move to Las Vegas for the WWE PC.

Specifically, we're told that Mark Shapiro was making a point that Las Vegas is a sports and entertainment destination and that having a WWE presence there is on the table. However, the company would need to figure out what that presence is, how much of a presence it would be, and when.

No sources at the WWE Performance Center had heard of any plans to move to Las Vegas, and were shocked when they saw word that it could happen. Many sources noted the proximity of the current PC to talent on the main roster, and their ability to easily access it. Among other things, cost of living of trainee talent was mentioned as being far more beneficial in Orlando.

They said their was a meeting at wwe headquarters earlier today about moving the pc to Vegas

I can see adding an additional place like the performance center in Vegas, but to completely uproot seems inefficient business wise.

Sheila Antonio

With how quickly Vegas is expanding and deceloping, I'm not surprised that idea was entertained.

I still think it’s happening things change rapidly in the corporate world especially after acquisitions they say they won’t do something and then do it the next day lol remember those triple h meetings when vince came back it went from not involved to him running creative and having final say so I’ll wait this is something that will resurface in a few months watch

Maybe a second NXT, like Raw and Smackdown have separate rosters? Punk could have his own NXT to "compete" with Shawn Michaels.

If WWE moves developmental out of Florida , does this open an opportunity for TNA to return to Orlando as a residency ?

So one source said the meeting didn't happen, but why include that part when in the next paragraph, it talks about Shapiro discussing Vegas as an entertainment destination. When would he have said that if there was no meeting lol?

Todd Eastman

I could see them having multiple hubs for “developmental” reasons like Deep South and OVW used to be just within the system

It would make more sense to just make Las Vegas an annual PLE location. Maybe once the Saudi deal is up, they move Crown Jewel to Las Vegas every year.

Besides what Shapiro said, was there any news of what Nick Kahn may have said.
