AEW's December 7 show in Columbus was canceled, but they're still running the city.

Fightful Select has learned that AEW still is running Columbus for Collision around that date, but had been working on a venue change as an interesting opportunity had come up. We're told AEW will be announcing it soon.

The original venue, Nationwide Arena, was to wait until those new plans were revealed to note the cancelation.

UPDATE: AEW has officially announced GalaxyCon will host Collision

So they announced the cancelation early? Interesting.

Ryan Cremeans

Well this is cryptic. As someone in the area, I'm interested now lol

I wonder what the interesting opportunity is?

Anthony Ramos

Are they gonna announce anything for post 12/12 lol

Collin Teets

As a Columbus native I had a feeling this was coming, way too big of a venue for Collision

Shannon Willis

Too bad it wasn't a "unique opportunity", but interesting to say the least.

I'm sure they differ by place and contract, but any idea how much of a deposit AEW loses by moving venues?

John Pearson

Gotta be running the schottenstein center

I would imagine they're doing double tapings so their talent doesn't come to work christmas week. They're running hammerstein that week

I didn't feel that way but also I didn't feel compelled to go see Collision like I would if it had been Dynamite. Now that it's Collision inside a comicon(that has tattoo artists apparently?) it might be enough of an interesting day to drop the cash.
