AEW Full Gear 2023’s graphics took a little bit of time to get into season shape, or something else that James Harden said once, I guess.

Originally, AEW Full Gear graphics featured yellow and gold theming, playing up the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers used to play there. However, by October things were switched up and we’ve found out why, as the company headed into AEW Revolution 2025 at the Cryrpo.com Arena, FKA the Staples Center.

Ownership of the LA Forum requested a change, as the LA Clippers owners actually bought the Forum several years ago. With the graphics representing the team’s rivals, they wanted a change. AEW ended up going back to the traditional Full Gear graphic style that has existed a few years before. For AEW Revolution this year, AEW was able to adopt the Lakers colors as they're emanating from where the Lakers play.

Tony Khan is a big fan of the Lakers, which is why the original color purple/gold scheme happened.

The Crypto.com Arena had previously been exclusive to WWE. However, when they ran the Intuit Dome for the Raw on Netflix premiere, AEW was able to book the home of the Lakers.

I do like how AEW has different colors for their PPVs normally. Maybe use a green color scheme for Dynasty since they will be in Philadelphia?

Was there ever supposed to be some kind of cross promo with Cyberpunk 2077 as the scheme of tonight's show, well it uses pretty similar themes.

Will there be someone from Lakers at Revolution?

Which just shows WWE expects loyalty they don’t give in return.

This is a great story, great work!

It's not exclusively a WWE thing. Many entertainment industries employ similar practices. For example, people performing at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, TX are prohibited from performing for up to 90 days in a 90-mile proximity from Austin and the SXSW venues.

Yep, same with bands touring and summer festivals. Won't announce their own headline show in a country that they're booked on a festival for.
