A dream match has been discussed for All Elite Wrestling this year, and already has the wheels in motion.

During AEW Revolution, Billie Starkz was shown watching Mercedes Mone vs. Momo Watanabe. Starkz has feuded and worked with ROH World Women’s Champion Athena for the last couple of years, and the social media interactions after Mercedes beat Billie Starkz on the March 19 are not on accident.

Those that Fightful have spoken with claim that an Athena vs. Mercedes Mone match is the plan, with some claiming it could happen as soon AEW Dynasty. Mercedes Mone is approaching ten months as TBS Champion, with Athena at over two years as ROH Champion.

Athena and Mercedes have worked together over three dozen times, even teaming together a number of times. However, they’ve never had a one on one match. Athena won a triple threat involving Mercedes back in 2018. The two haven’t worked together in over six years.

Dynasty?!

Keith Robinson

I was hoping this was going to be about Billie getting a bigger push. She did great last night. She's blown me away for a couple years now, back on Dark.

Athena is most-likely gonna be on the All In card since its in TX, so if this match happens at Dynasty, I imagine she's winning the title and Mone moves on to Toni for All In

Alexander Fitzgerald

I hope it doesnt happen at Dynasty and they slow build it to All In. Thats a big match that fans want to see.

Chad McLaughlin

Should be incredible. Surprising if it doesn't happen at All In though unless they're planning on Mercedes-Toni.

Kieran Buxton

Love the match. Do think it should probably be more than a one shot deal if they do it as soon as Dynasty as think that one defining feud is what Mercedes has missed in AEW.

Dynasty? Wouldn't it be better to do it at all in in Texas

meatknight8

If mone vs Athena does happen then it wouldn't matter cause Mone will take Athena's title unless TK is smart and won't let it happen

Knnillssonn

Don't want to sound like a stickler, but duh?

Will Landrum

Dude, I so want Athena on main roster, absolutely Dominating.

Sean Culver

I was always thinking that this would be a match for All In, but now I'm not sure. I guess that it would make sense to do this match before All In and then have the winner face Toni in Texas. Part of the reason is that I just don't see another big match for Toni to have on that card. Who else would be a big enough match for her for their biggest show of the year? I feel like Mercedes vs. Athena would overshadow whatever match Toni is in and I don't think that you can have that.

Flameducky

Would prefer they at the minimum build to double or Nothing

TheMightyKyle

I'm all about this match, but they'll need to reintroduce and build Athena for it to carry any weight. ROH is a non entity to most viewers.

I think that the TBS championship can and occasionally does overshadow the other women's belt. They've always seemed to have existed on separate islands.

thereelnerd

This is the match I've been wanting.

Tamba

They need to save it for All In if you ask me, Athena’s home state ? Biggest show of the year? Plz wait
