Bryan Danielson news (Patreon)

Bryan Danielson is still around AEW, but his in-ring future had largely been uncertain. Then he appeared at ROH Global Wars in Mexico.
Back in December, Danielson admitted to Fightful that he wasn’t feeling good physically, and was trying to avoid surgery. We’ve not heard from anyone in AEW who has heard he’s had surgery as of this point, but he said that his neck health was most important.
Danielson has still served as a creative consultant, and is occasionally appearing backstage and doing media for the company. At one point around his departure, there was certainly an expectation that Danielson would end up competing again, with Danielson taking a back bump, that was solidified even more from those we spoke to.
Those that we spoke to in AEW said that certain things have been done and set up for whenever it is Bryan Danielson can return, if that ends up being the case. Namely, Wheeler YUTA using Danielson’s moves.
AEW was very careful to only say that he was effectively done as a “full-time” talent when Danielson was wrapping up, knowing he could come back.
Danielson appeared on ROH Global Wars and made the save for Blue Panther in a spot that we’re told was very important to him personally. Shane Taylor Promotions was booked and brought in specifically for that spot.
