A free agent is confirmed.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling star David Finlay's contract has officially expired with the company. Fightful learned that while Finlay's contract is over, New Japan is actively trying to re-sign the fourth generation star. While it's widely speculated that Clark Connors is signed with AEW despite no company announcement being made yet, natural speculation has ensued that Finlay could end up joining as well- inserting more of the War Dogs into the company.Fightful has previously confirmed that WWE and Finlay have had talks amidst WWE interest, with many fans expecting Finlay to join his brother and father to the company. His free agency is officially underway.

Fightful reported in December that Finlay would be looking to explore options in North America upon his contract expiring.

I think he’s AEW bound They haven’t announced the others, so they can announce all 3 at once

Talia

I'm kind of surprised to read NJPW is still actively negotiating, that seemed like a very final goodbye in Osaka! (I know he has one more match for them in NJ but it's not like they have him in a high profile match.) (Sorry Fred, you know what I mean.)

Lucas

I remember that Finlay still has a match for NJPW in US?

Marcos

Finlay is bigger than the other 2 lol he doesn’t need to be announced with them

Ricky

Why would he have a send off from New Japan?

Talia

"The War Dogs Are All Elite" graphic would go real hard, though. And an AEW only audience would definitely need to be introduced to him, the way they've been to Clark.

Tony V

I think he’s AEW bound

Adrian Carpenter

I think its possible he could do a dual AEW/NJPW contract like Konosuke Takashita has

Aristidis Fantis

He's definitely heading to AEW. I think Tony will do a grand War Dogs are All Elite graphic with Finlay, Kidd and Connors

Lynchman

if WWE offers him an NXT contract, I don't see him signing. If they offer him a main roster contract with him starting in NXT, maybe. But as Adrian said, I think he signs with AEW and NJPW.
