Idk if this has been asked in the past before or not. Do wrestlers have a say of who they want to ref their matches? I've been noticing that Jessika Carr refs major matches Becky has been in. I'm just wondering if they do or it's just a random selection of who's the ref of a certain match
I know in AEW they certainly do. Chris Jericho has always wanted Aubrey Edwards refereeing his matches. The Young Bucks have always preferred Rick Knox. In WWE, I see more preferred writers and producers. Alexandra Williams will write for CM Punk, Michael Hayes produced a lot of the Bloodline stuff. Molly Holly and TJ Wilson produce a lot of the women's stuff.
Danhausen appears to be the latest in a line of AEW stars who say they were ghosted by management for long periods of time. What are your thoughts on this, and have you heard anything about this possibly keeping free agents from signing there in the future?
I haven't heard of it affecting free agency whatsoever. It honestly used to be a much bigger problem than it is now, and I believe that's what helped prompt a lot of people getting promotions to spots that had them interact directly with talent. Tony Khan has mentioned a number of times that a lot of talent probably preferred the Jacksonville days when they had unfettered access to him because they were always in Jacksonville. Ultimately, I do believe that there should be some talent relations, contract go to adjustments that have some better communication.
Why did aew hire inspiration to be jobbers?
So let's break down this situation. AEW starts a tag team division. They want teams with some familiarity. They sign one of the most well known teams in the world. There are thousands of tweets and posts about how they can't wrestle, how they don't fit, how it was a bad signing. They're brought in, they immediately do business without complaining, and get squashed by a team AEW is trying to get over. Did people want to see AEW's dominant women's team taking a fisherman's suplex from the most "stick out like a sore thumb" team? I think it was good booking, and they're going to get over. They're in the Chelsea Green role right now, and they will do great at it.
