Toni Storm is out of action, and AEW doesn't plan on having her back any time soon.

Toni Storm was written off of AEW TV on the Wednesday, March 18 episode of AEW Dynamite. She was laid out in a deliberately non-contact angle that was sprinkled with easter eggs to encourage speculation on who took her out. As things stand, Storm will not be in the ring any time soon.

Originally, Storm was planned to wrestle on March 18, but was not cleared. Since then, we're told that AEW is prepared for her to not be cleared to wrestle through 2026 at a minimum.

There are already plans in order for the "attacker" storyline and a creative direction for it.

Either she’s pregnant or they discover something in her neck

Jose Balderas

Shit. It’s either something awful that doesn’t have an end point in sight or something great like pregnancy.

Muldrotha

Her return next year is going to hit like crack

Kevin W.

Speedy recovery for Toni!

Nick_713

My goodness, a significant loss in the Women’s Division.

Mark McDonald

Wow. Must be pretty serious to be out for the rest of the year at a minimum. No All in London ... gutted. Hope she is ok

Brian Carpenter

There are 9 months left in 2026………

Kieran Buxton

Damn that’s terrible news. Wishing her a speedy recovery. Just as well for that division Mercedes should be back shortly it seems.

JD Larson

Injury or pregnancy?

Keith S

If she is pregnant she wont be back until summer 2027.

David C

A real shame.

Alexander Fitzgerald

This sucks. I would have to think that Ronda/Toni Storm wouldve been an All In match this year. Positive note this forces TK to hopefully book the women better

Laechis

Torn ACL or Achilles would put her out for that long as well.

MarcustheGod

Tony Khan needs to have plans for the women that will be needed to step up. Names that I think bring the most impact if brought to AEW TV(excluding Mercedes): Athena (& MIT) would be gold, Britt Baker(possibly in a tag team) she'll instantly bring eyeballs, & Hikaru Shida(possibly as a heel) bring great energy and is a great worker.

Mikeike

Didn't think pregnancy but that could definitely be a reason.

Thomas Rathert

We still don't know where and how she got injured or when they knew she would be out for this long? Just seems odd to me that they would book a match for Dynamite, and then wait until the last minute to make the change. Regardless, damn being out for the rest of 2026 is a really long time.

Scott George

That's unfortunate. If there's no update on what the injury is for Toni from AEW, it has to be personal. Just hope she's healthy either way.

Patrick Hercules

This would be how I'd bring Britt Baker back, if she's ever going to come back. I'd have Britt be the one who attacked Toni but not reveal it until Toni comes back.

Michael Wall

If she wasn't cleared, I doubt it's personal. More likely a concussion or ligament damage.

Emily Scott

I thought everyone was going to do the same as me and immediately jump to, "oh, so she's pregnant?"

Glenlake8

Seem similar to the Naomi situation. Booked to wrestle next show after PPV so no injury there. Tests come back. Oops, you can no longer wrestle.

Scott George

I don't think either would keep her out the rest of the year. We'd know if it were either of those.

Cris

If she’s already 8 weeks…

Cris

Some of you aren’t very good at math. Or biology.

Tucker

It's none of your business. You don't need to know everything.

Marc R

Hopefully it’s pregnancy and not an injury

Alexander Fitzgerald

Why wouldn't it be Ronda Rousey makes more sense for it to be her since they got into it at Revolution

Brian Walmer

Or AEW is feeding this information. And basically making you think she may not be back for the rest of the year and then she shows up at dynasty or double or nothing. Basically, it's a way to get your eyes on their product and watching every week on both dynamite and collision. If that's the case. Especially since it's oh I don't know Wrestlemania season. And they know eyes are gonna be on WWE most of all. And they don't wanna lose that. So why not come up with something to where you think she's gonna be gone for the rest of 20:26 Feed you that information. And then when you least expected dynasty or double or nothing, she comes back. And now all eyes and Discussion is about them.

Freddy McCowan

Some a baby Robinson in the future hopefully, sure sounds that way with the information given. I hope that is the case, a baby would be a lot more fun than rehab from an injury or surgery.

Victor Montgomery Jr.

Not gonna speculate and just wish her the best whatever is going on.

Rob Iapicca

You don't think this is vetted multiple times over before being posted? Sean knew the Santana stuff in TNA was a straight-up lie immediately... he'd know if this was too, or at least have enough of an idea to not post this..

Rob Iapicca

The word "injury" isn't said once in this post... just says she isn't cleared and isn't expected to be cleared through 2026 at a minimum... not gonna speculate, but think people can put 2 and 2 together here on what it looks like as things stand...

Rob Iapicca

And you aren't very good at reading lol

Rob Iapicca

They said through 2026 at a minimum... she could not be cleared until 2028... you can go a few weeks, sometimes more, without having any clue you're pregnant..

Cris

No clue what you’re talking about it, but hey, you got a laugh out of it so good on you, bubba.

Bernard Ozarowski

Respectfully, the idea that letting slip that their biggest female star (and in the running for biggest overall star at least until this tag run cooled her off) will be out for a *year* two days after All In tickets go on sale and three days after a Ronda Rousey match was teased would be just about the worst way to help the promotion generate more buzz or excitement about literally anything over the next few months.

Marc Opps

Oof. 9 months is pretty clearly a serious injury. Or...nine months....hmmm.....

Manton

Did she tape a podcast with Stephanie yes or no Sean yes or no

Paul Sating

Through the ENTIRE year???? Say it ain't so!

LostRhino

I doubt it. If it were maternity, it would be longer than 9 months. Most women who come back after having a kid have along time to get back into shape, it would be closer to 2028 I bet if that were the case

John Thee Punisher

You sir PickleVic are the voice of reason, thank you. Wrestling fans loves to speculate and throw in phrases like "It's likely that..." or "It's sounds like...". You can see this this in comments in this post so you don't have to look far. Then you'll see things like "There's a rumor that..." because all this speculation leads to rumors based on no facts yet become talked about as factual. It drives me crazy because no one has the right to speak on someone else's personal lives without facts and if there are none to go off from there's probably a reason for that. Wrestling fans have a very weird way of discussing wrestlers personal lives and feelings as though they know them personally. Thank you for being a reasonable person PickleVic.

Glenlake8

It did say at a minimum. Becky returned in 15 months so that would still be 2027.
