with the call ups that we’ve already gotten since the beginning of the year, are there any NXT talents that stick out to you as “next up”?
Unless Wendy Choo becomes a player/coach, I actually think she will eventually get a call up and become a wrestler that does well in a comedy or tag team role on the main roster. You could put Kendal Grey or Lizzy Rain on the main roster right now and they'd succeed. There are a number of NXT talent that I feel are probably semi-permanent NXT talent, though. Hank and Tank would probably be a solid main roster act, and Tony D'Angelo has completely reinvented himself.
What's KiLynn King's contract status? Is she still with TNA?
She is still listed on the TNA roster page, that usually is accurate to who is with the company. She's been battling a series of injuries and hasn't been able to wrestle since 2023. When I asked her for an interview at WrestleCade 2024, it had to go through TNA PR approval at the time. Obviously that was a year and a half ago, but at least of then, that was the deal.
If Covid never happened — how different do you think the landscape of WWE would look like?
Well there would definitely be some people that never ended up getting fired and would have made more of an impact. WWE went into talent hoarding mode in 2018 when NJPW/ROH became a solid combined alternative. Specifically, the ROH/NJPW/MSG show lit a fire under them to talent hoard so those outfits couldn't get talent. Who knows what wrestlers actually would have been used if not for the mass layoffs. Because while they're commonplace now, they hadn't been for a couple years at that point. I think that there definitely would have been a different roster lineup for both AEW and WWE, and honestly, AEW probably would have avoided some headaches along the way.
