AEW Forbidden Door Update (Patreon)

AEW Forbidden Door plans were still a mystery to some talent as of this past Wednesday

AEW Forbidden Door takes place next week, and a number of talent tell Fightful they still weren't sure what they're doing on the show as of this week's Dynamite. Fightful Select spoke to talent across AEW, NJPW and CMLL who said some of them haven't been told what their plans are if any for the show. Some talent have said this isn't out of the ordinary, and they'll find out their matches the week of the show.

One talent that NJPW expected to be a huge part of Forbidden Door this year was Gabe Kidd. There were big title plans for him earlier in the year in New Japan Pro Wrestling before his injury, which derailed much of that. Kidd returned to NJPW last week and declared for the G1, but was originally anticipated to play off of his comments towards New Japan for Forbidden Door. We've not been told since if he's planned for the show now that he's returned.

Sources in AEW we spoke to claimed that things were being held close to the vest for the show.
