The “financial suicide” to get John Cena out of retirement won’t be happening.

John Cena has wrapped up his in-ring career and has adamantly stated that he won’t be wrestling again. When prodded on a possible return, Cena stated that it would be “financial suicide” unless a promoter is "in the business of torching currency.”

Well there’s a number of reasons that won’t be All Elite Wrestling. We’re told this wasn’t discussed whatsoever since Cena’s retirement, or ever seen as a possibility. Beyond that, Cena is still under a multi-year WWE contract to work as an ambassador. The claim within WWE when we asked is that he wouldn’t be able to wrestle elsewhere contractually.

Cena's John Cena Classic is still planned for later this year, which we're told has a December target date, but could change.
