Dr. Britt Baker DMD is back in All Elite Wrestling after nearly two years away.

Baker last wrestled in AEW in November 2024, before vanishing from AEW TV until AEW All In London 2026. There was a lot of speculation about how the return came together, and why she was gone, and Fightful Select has learned more.

On the Friday before AEW All In, Fightful Select noted that Baker was at home in Florida and the AEW roster hadn’t heard of her involvement in All In at that point. That was true, and she didn’t travel in with the rest of the roster. However, on Saturday, there was a lot of movement on her involvement in the show with people we spoke about. That day, word started to emerge that she could be involved. It was implied but not confirmed to us that this could have all been nailed down late.

AEW sources claimed that Baker didn’t even arrive in London until Sunday morning, and wasn’t at Wembley until after call time.

Regarding her absence, Baker’s name has been brought up a number of times about a potential return. Those that we spoke to in AEW said things definitely picked up when the Rebel Heart Dynamite show was announced, but there had been a couple of overtures in the past and Baker had been open to returning, but it didn’t happen for whatever reason. Those close to Baker claimed that she actually took herself off the road in 2024, but we didn’t hear why.

For those that naturally will say that AEW had merch ready for Baker's return, the shirts they promoted on social media were all the shirts she's had over the last number of years and were not new designs.

I am glad I have a reoccurring doctor in my life once sgain

I hope she took the time to rest and reflect, and come back better. The tag feud with her and Persephone vs. Thunder Rosa and Maya World should be fun.

I like the linkup with Persephone. Wonder if this might set up a tag match against the Brawling Birds on the Rebel Heart show or down the line? Jamie Hayter seemed to open the door to it in the media scrum last night.

And then building to challenging the Brawling Birds. Baker vs. Hayter will pop the crowd.

Still doesn't explain why she was taken off TV in the first place. She shouldn't have been taken off TV ever. Tony especially disappears the women on his roster forever. Britt, Kamille, Nyla, Serena Deeb, Riho, Emi Sakura, Yuka Sakazaki etc. no more excuses. Britt needs to be on Dynamite, ROH and Collision ever week forever..

Article says she took herself off the road in 2024 but it's unknown why

Raymond Slover

She had a stroke and the matches she had when she came back were terrible. She came back to early or was incredibly rusty. Unless she improved dramatically, the current women's roster has passed her on the in ring work.

Aristidis Fantis

If you thought her matches with Mercedes, Serena Deeb, Hikaru Shida, Harley Cameron were "terrible", I don't even know what to say. We have dramatically different opinions of wrestling

Insomnia Inc

Was nice to see her get a radically different reaction to the last time she was at Wembley. This pairing with Persephone could work real well

Lol article says Britt took herself off TV, and this dude goes "Why that mean man Tony Khan take her off TV" Hooked on phonics.

thereelnerd

I'm so happy she is back.

I really hope people can stop using her name as a gotcha now. Huge idiots always love to assume that Tony is putting his wrestlers in jail. They forget the difficulties she had professionally and personally and can’t fathom that she just wanted / needed some time away from the sport.
