Multi-time AEW title holder's contract coming up (Patreon)

Another long time AEW star has a contract expiring soon.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that Anthony Bowens' AEW contract is currently set to expire on October 1. As of now, the deal has not been extended and we've not yet learned if those talks have started.

Fightful reported recently that Bowens' former tag team partner Max Caster sees his contract expire on October 1 as well. As the Acclaimed, the duo won the AEW World Tag Team Titles, and also the Trios title with Billy Gunn at Wembley Stadium for AEW All In London 2023.

Bowens has been a part of the Opps stable throughout 2026.

In 2019, Fightful did a long form feature on Bowens, which eventually uncovered that WWE had originally planned on signing him. However, someone involved in the process failed to follow up, and he eventually signed with AEW.
