Cody Rhodes continues to be a standout on WWE programming, and is over at the merchandise table as well.

In a rarity, Fightful Select learned and subsequently confirmed within WWE that Cody Rhodes was able to outsell generic WWE merchandise at some recent live events. This doesn’t occur often, as generic merchandise generally includes basic WWE logo shirts, event merchandise and title belts.

Cody Rhodes does great sales with weight belts, which are a high ticket item as well, but has had great success with merchandise since his return in 2022.

We’re told that of late, John Cena has beaten Cody a couple of times, but generally it’s Rhodes, Cena or generic WWE merchandise topping the list.

Wasn’t Knight outselling generic WWE merch? Hope his sales are still doing well with this current push.

More proof Cody needs to finish the story

I’ve always assumed they get a cut of that but do you know if percentages are negotiated into contracts? I would have to assume Cody has been blown away by that so far.

ARose Lab

That would defintely be negotiated into their contracts and also have to do with if they own the name or not. Back in the early 2000’s, Trish Stratus got a percentage of everything that used her name because she owned it and had a name in the fitness modeling world prior to WWE. So she would make more off merch using her name than say Lita because Lita isn’t owned by Amy Dumas. So I’d assume same case stands true where it’s in your contract and has to do with who owns what

Agreed. Though, WWE does tend to pass on striking while the iron is hot.

Alex Bradford

I understand that Knight is hot right now but does anyone actually think he'll beat Roman clean?

Part of it is that Cody’s merch isn’t embarrassing looking.
