MJF is no longer AEW Champion, and needs to heal up.

Many that Fightful spoke to immediately following AEW Worlds End said that they expect MJF to be off TV for a while immediately, if not almost immediately. MJF had sustained a plethora of injuries during his AEW Title reign, but was adamant that he wanted to see it through. As MJF is often influential in his own creative, there's always a chance he could insist on an absence not happening, but it's expected internally.

MJF has long said that his AEW contract is up at the start of 2024. He’s not told anyone any different, but WWE sources have claimed that they’ve not had conversations with him, though there was interest as recently as a year ago. However, most in AEW believe he re-signed well over a year ago, even though he’d never admit as such.

Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett and Wardlow were revealed as the Devils during AEW Worlds End.

Return at Wembley, rematch with Cole is my guess.

Fun title run. Heal well Max!

Justmask

He’s been busting his ass, he deserves time off

Flameducky

Max was awesome tonight despite his physical limits. Time to rest

Brendan Bdotlion Beal

Yeah I don’t think he’s leaving anymore but a well deserved break definitely

Insomnia Inc

Sweet jebus I hope so, The man deserves it.

slick

Deserved the time off

Scott George

Wardlow back to square one being a lacky

Mathieu Desjardins

Deserves it. That comback Run bout' to be Legendary.

TF

As expected. Just curious as to how they play out the whole devil stuff now with him being off TV for months. With Tony’s track record I’m not confident…

Cody

I wish he had re-signed, talk about poor decisions!

M

How long we thinking it’s gonna be. I personally feel revolution is his comeback

M

I doubt he’s off for over 8 months, considering he’s trying not to go for surgery. Revolution or the latest being DON is my guess

Deep down, I kind of had a feeling Adam was The Devil. I think I'm far more surprised, though, that The Kingdom, Roddy, and, to a bigger extent of shock, Wardlow aided him this whole time. MJF deserves a good decently long break, though. A lot of the match, he looked like he was in more pain than Kenny was during HIS World title reign.

It's only been mentioned a couple times on air, but go back and look up the origins of The Kingdom. Adam Cole as a founder and leader in ROH/NJPW prior to everyone going to WWE. Only Wardlow is new to this group.

If he does surgery, which apparently he doesn't want to do, a torn labrum is a 6 month recovery minimum. Let alone his hip.

Craig Williamson

People just feel away about Bennett and Taven (boring) and not thrilled about lackey Wardlow. Also does this change the Bucks returning to make a heel stable? How many heel stables we gonna have?

NateF_81

I think MJF knows that we know that he's re-signed. So they will just play cool with that. And Max can take a well deserved time off to heal up.

Martin

Can’t blame MJF for taking some time off. I’ve enjoyed his run but he’s got to let these injuries heal. When he comes back, he’s going to get one of the greatest pops.

MJF's Scarf

Im available to wear. No injuries

I have thought it was Warlord not Wardlow. Whoops my bad.
