Newlyweds Discussion and Q&A (Patreon)

Hey Friends! Before we get into the good stuff, just some housekeeping notes.
We have a TikTok account! This is just another way for me to connect with all of you. Share fun updates, stories, etc. If you have an account, it would be SUPER cool if you'd give me a follow. TikTok actually locks some of the best creator features until you hit a certain number of followers, so your support there means a lot! https://www.tiktok.com/@maddoxstorrey
A new interracial story is dropping tomorrow for All tiers! Or, just to make it a bit more exciting, I will drop it the moment we hit 50 followers on TikTok (whichever comes first)
I had some traveling I had to do last week, so I didn't get as much writing done as I'd hoped. I'm shooting to be able to release EP by the end of next week.
Now, with all of that out of the way, let's talk about Newlyweds. If you haven't finished the story yet, this may contain spoilers. Shameless plug to download from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GSSDTFHP)
"How did you come up with the story?"
This is a question I get asked a lot and it's hard to answer. I've never been much of "an outline guy" so the story branched into a million different directions along the way. A lot of the time, I wasn't sure how a chapter was going to go until I started writing it. There were multiple times where something someone said on the Insider version of the story triggered a thought that I either changed before I wrote what is "canon" or became an idea later in the series.
All of that said, the basic idea actually stemmed from "The Firm" by John Grisham (one of my all-time favorite books). The original plan for the story was for it to only be about 8 chapters in total and tell the story of Chris taking a job at BitGuardian, getting everything he ever wanted while starting to feel like he was being "watched" all of the time. Obviously, it still would have had Clayton pursuing Ashley and eventually sleeping with her, but the ending at the time was more around Chris wanting to quit after realizing what BitGuardian was but not being able to break free without losing everything in the process (Ashley included). It was still that story in a lot of ways, but also something completely different. Thanks in large part to all of you.
"How much of this is based on real-life experiences? I'm in the lifestyle and a lot of what you wrote is spot-on."
To give the most direct answer to the question, almost none of it. That isn't to say the wife and I haven't had our share of adventures, but nothing close to what this is. As I told one reader: When I started writing Newlyweds, I actually knew next to nothing about the whole Hotwife/Cuckold dynamic. I was learning on the fly, doing A LOT of my own reading and trying to get a sense of what different stories had in common. Shout out to writers like Kenny Wright, Don Silver, Rabblelaid, Antartica77, and so many more. They were the authors I read the most during this time and helped shape my understanding of the lifestyle.
"Are any of the characters based on you or real-life people?"
Yes and no, I guess. Growing up, I used to watch a lot of professional wrestling. And I remember seeing an interview back then of someone describing the biggest names at the time, all playing characters that were versions of themselves turned up to 11. I guess that's how I would describe this. Both Clayton and Chris's characters had parts of me in them that I just cranked all the way up. Similarly, Ashley's character was based on someone I knew in the past, but again, turned all the way up to be far more adventurous than the real-life version. Perhaps that's what made each of them so relatable. They were all larger-than-life versions of real people.
"How long ahead of time did you know the ending? Did you ever consider Ashley actually leaving with Clayton and Tom?"
I can't remember the exact moment, but I want to say it was right around Chapter 15, where I decided what I wanted the ending to be. It was probably right around here that I started making more of a conscious effort to throw out subtle reminders about the safe word. I gave myself a few different versions of how it would play out. I told myself if someone actually guessed the ending, I would change it, but honestly, I'm not sure that's true. When I envisioned the scene of Ashley rushing through the door and Chris picking himself off the ground, it literally brought tears to my eyes (I know, I know, I'm such a softy). No other ending I came up with had that kind of impact.
As for the question of whether I considered Ashley actually leaving. Sure, I considered it, but it was never really going to be that story for me. I knew pretty early on that I wanted this to be a "love conquers all" kind of tale, and as long as I didn't mess Ashley up too much, that was going to be the plan.
"What were some major differences between how you envisioned the story going versus how it ended?"
Oh man, so many things. As I said, the length of it is probably the most obvious. Aside from that, a few of the characters took on very different roles. The Janitor, for example, was supposed to just be a sort of creepy guy in a couple of scenes, then I got flooded with comments that he should actually be the one to fuck Ashley first. Suddenly, he'd become a much bigger character than I imagined. It was a similar situation for Tom, but in the opposite direction. His introduction and backstory caused so much outrage that I had to make him a bigger player. This, in turn, I think made Clayton a more well-rounded character, as people suddenly didn't hate him as much.
"Is there going to be a sequel?"
Maybe. I have a few basic ideas on a sequel, specifically around Chris and Ashley. It's still not fleshed out enough that I would consider it "a story," but it's close.
I think that's the majority of the most "common" questions I get. If you have more you want me to answer, feel free to drop a comment below. Or, join the discord and get involved in the conversation there :)
