The Nanoha lore drop was unexpected, really puts some of her actions into perspective.

Yeah, I wonder how Shari was able to get footage of random scenes from Season 1, some of which happened before the TSAB even showed up lol. I think that Nanoha was correct to criticize Teana's behavior in this arc and dismiss Teana from the mission until that behavior could be addressed, but I also feel like Nanoha and Signum went overboard in how harshly they treated Teana. They could have handled the situation more professionally. Well, it's at least understandable considering Nanoha's personal experiences revealed in this episode and it's fine for characters to have flaws.

It probably makes a bit more sense of the situation to frame this not in a real-world military context, but in the context where Nanoha wound up with her most precious friends by attacking them to get them to listen. Back to Arisa in the first season flashbacks, through to literally shooting down Fate and Vita, Nanoha's living in a world where people don't listen to you until you prove your feelings through massive violence. Now, I think the framing of Subaru's bind was less "forcing her to watch" than "keeping her from interfering", and I think it's important that Nanoha dropped all of the processing and mana boosts that she gets from Raising Heart before dealing with Teana — between her limiters and the fact that she did the bombardment manually, she could have shot her down much, MUCH harder. I've always liked the apparent retcon that Nanoha's youthful overtraining did catch up to her, in a potentially crippling way; some side manga from A's adds the notes that she was using a constant mana drain from Raising Heart like training weights, and spending a lot of her school time parallel-processing training scenarios using Raising Heart in some kind of VR mode. Just continuously overtraining from a very early age, until that left her overextended at just the wrong time.

I like how the anime manage the consecuences of surpass the limits power.
