Yeah, ViVid is very different from all the previous seasons. ViVid takes place 4 years after the end of StrikerS. It's cute seeing Nanoha, Fate, and Vivio enjoy life as a family. Apparently Ixy was first introduced in an audio drama for StrikerS, but I haven't listened to it.

Let me give you a warning, before you end this Anime. There was a second season planned, but it did never see the light of day. I dont know why, but it is what it is. And because of that this Series ends before everything is finished. Its very sad, but nonetheless worth watching it, if you know this beforehand. The Series "Vivid Strike" which comes next is not really a continuation, but you can see it as one, if you want. "Vivid Strike" also is a way better series. But make your own opinion :)

The rabbit Chris is actually also the toy that Nanoha first bought for Vivio when they originally rescued her from Jail back in StrikerS episode 12. Nanoha is on the way to see Vivio for the first time and passes by the rabbit in the hospital gift shop area. The character Ix was from some sadly un-animated additional content, if you are curious about those happenings I think the wiki page is likely the best option sadly. https://nanoha.fandom.com/wiki/StrikerS_Sound_Stage_X

There’s a fansubbed version of it on YouTube as well, though as you said, it was originally an audio play so it doesn’t have any visuals to go with it.
