Episode 0 of S2 for Sylphie and this Eris Training Arc here... they both seemingly had a similar way of being presented in the original light novel. Getting attached as multiple small story additions in small chunks every chapter or volume each during the time Sylphie and Eris respectively are not directly a part of Rudeus' own story in person. The anime direction of this of course results in them just not being present at all in the show until their decisive moment approach shortly after...

These 2 episodes were all bonus chapters.

The character acting animation feels so different. But I think it's a upgrade.

Wonder if close by” ranoa is 2 months away feom the sanctuary they oth in the northern region

a little detail that means a lot as to why ERIS thinks RUDEUS want to defeat Orsted that was left out in the anime in season 1 other than just showing it is: Rudeus dies to Orsted and gets revived and then the very next day Rudy is practicing Disturb Magic not showing any signs of being scared of him (Just like before he fought him), which makes Eris mistakenly think that he is planning to fight Orsted again.

Richard Wild

Just so you know, the training camp is known as The Sword Sanctum.

TheErisianMonk

Yeah! That's never said is it?!? That's kinda silly.

TheErisianMonk

Damn, I was impressed. I haven't refreshed myself on the novels' content, but I think the anime additional content REALLY supplemented the episodes, because I felt damn validated in my passion for MT. Also, while I'm still pissed that the anime purposefully let anime-onlys have the wrong opinion of Eris in many cases, no one can be disillusioned or spiteful after seeing how Rudeus and the sword are Eris's only guiding stars. Also, Nina turned out 100% liked I'd have hoped, and so did Isolde. Isolde looked INCREDIBLE in the anime. Her design is Roxy-tier!

TheErisianMonk

2:30 Well, as I recall, there is still a LOT of Eris's thoughts while in bed that were left out. After the sex, she actually thought that she had taken advantage of Rudi and his unpreparedness for her seduction. I recall her feeling a good deal more guilty, but that changed into her drive to be worthy of him. If she left and got stronger, without leaning on him, then any of her selfish desires would be reasonable to him. Something like that. It has been a few years now.

TheErisianMonk

Wait.....Mat, did you really think that Sarah was Ariel at some point?!?!? I must have missed that reaction, because I'd probably never forget something like that.

TheErisianMonk

46:55 I love how, not only does Eris read, write, and cast fireball & shite, but she also learned from a legendary Superd AND taught beastfolk girls swordcraft and how to speak Human God tongue. She's kinda kicked a lot of ass.

Christian Wennrich

Wasn’t it like a 3 week ride? I could be wrong, it’s been a while since I read that part.

Christian Wennrich

Mat, I think you missed that in the first fight between Eris and Nina, Nina was given a wooden sword with a steel core. That’s the reason Eris‘ sword immediately broke, leading to the fistfight.

Skeletan

A lot of weird moralizing ngl, like what do you mean you don't like how the Sword God treated Ghislaine?

D. L. Pulver

Enjoyed the reaction. Good catch quickly recognizing Nina as the girl who Rudeus saw before the Badi duel!

D. L. Pulver

Well, in the anime at least, Rudy is certainly planning for what might happen *if* he faced Orstead (see the duel with Badi), though he's not planning on deliberately going after him. I don't really see it matters either way, and we see after the meeting with Nanahoshi that he is rightly worried Orsted might come after him again. Eris correctly knows that Rudy is concerned with a future fight against Orstead, and wants to either pre-empt it by defeating Orstead first or be ready to help Rudy against him.

MugiwaraCliff

Yes I'm aware of this but Mat seemed confused as to why Eris thought she needed to be strong enough to fight Orsted if she wanted to be with Rudy (The point is from her pov it seems Rudy is proactively wanting to fight Orsted again) and what I said previously is HER reason. what you said is all stuff from Rudy pov that Mat should also know but idk...
