Really cool seeing them go a bit more in depth on the entire power system, love seeing them flesh this out!

Mat, pardon the non sequitur, but you are stoked about Walpurgisnacht Rising next month, right? It would ROCK if you had a chance to react to the trailers. 2 new ones came out without me noticing, with one of them out just days ago.

12:10 Just one of the many reasons I enjoy your reactions so much. You have a way of pondering the "what ifs" and the mechanics, whether you want to or not. Most characters in mainstream media are a collaborative effort by that point. Sure, maybe a 16 year old girl or a 36 year old dude came up with the original concept, but by the time there is an anime, novel series, or released game, other professionals have put their 2 cents in. Editors, illustrators, proofreaders, and even comments from other authors or even fans. This makes the process of altering the "living created" seem awfully complex and dangerous.

13:30 Dang it. Hearing what you said here, I am reminded of some other series that made use of nearly the exact sort of mechanics you described. Write it, nothing happens. Make it accepted by a large enough section of "believers," the people who value the information, and changes manifest. I just can not remember what anime or novel I'm thinking of!

This was probably one of my favorite episodes originally. It gave so much push forward for the "unknown lore" that makes this overly-meta story work, and I found that VERY exciting. Sota's name being related to the core of the conflict, Meteora's brilliant deductions regarding a Creator's potential power over the Created, and the inexplicably complex workings of "what makes the character canon," so to speak. Mat, ya couldn't have gotten many better choices to react to for this sort of cerebral adventure.

Enjoyed the reaction -- good analysis.

If a super-popular dojinshi version from a different creator began to rival the main character, would it to change the original creation, or create an alternate version?
