Watching the harem assemble is noting that we started with a single blond 'pebble' - Luna - which tips over a seemingly innocent red stone - Ginny - which then sets a bushy brown haired, seemingly solidly placed rock named Hermione in motion and now the avalanche is starting to gather more pieces without meaning to. They will stop at eight, right? The rule of unexpected consequences shouldn't apply, should it?
