Chapter 27 of Delightful Duty, in which Prince Qoren is informed of the disaster at Bloodstone and becomes furious, as does Viserys for very different reasons. After they speak with him, Rhaenyra, Jon, and Daemon discuss the war to come, with the couple hoping to gain far more than most from it.

Man this Viserys, seems even more dumb than normal, and I always thought that was not possible, but everything about that guy, screams i will beleive anything if it leads to peace. What an idiot.

Cody

Lovely chapter as usual!

Voivode_Writer

His most consistent character trait in canon is his willful blindness. He sees what he wants to and little else so him genuinely believing that he could negotiate with the Dornish seemed to be in character for him.

I wish we saw more of this story then just once amonth

Visery’s is a fool man . Atleast he didn’t blame Jon , I mean seriously? I don’t know how Qoren will respond but the Dragons ain’t done .

Durdens Wrath

Viserys is an incredible fool. He's mad that peace talks were interrupted while completely ignoring the fact that Dorne sent a massive fleet to attack.

Viserys maybe a fool but at least he is a consistent and well-meaning fool. Love the Chapter excellent work as always just a few thoughts I had as I read it. First I hope that we get a reaction from Alicent at seeing Rhaenyra's new look/body I assume she didn't realize how Rhaenyra looked cause she was angry about Rhaenyra's comment on being Master of Dresses. Second I hope Rhaenyra takes her father's idea of how to cripple the Triarchy and improves on it by approaching Lyse and convinces them to betray Tyrosh and Myr in exchange for protection and better t rade rights/deals. And finally here is an idea for how Jon can end the Dornish conflict/problem and improve his standing for marrying Rhaenyra he sends a letter to all the Dornish houses tells them it was him that destroyed theor fleet and challenges all of them to trial by combat one after the other from and if they win the Dornish have their revenge and if Jon wins the matter is settled and Dorne submits to the Iron Throne.

The unmitigated gall of Viserys to appoint his wife's family bannerman to a territory that Daemon sweated and bled for, & should be the purview of Dragonstones anyway. And to chastise them for the negotiation ending with Dorne, when Dorne was sending a big ass fleet to support the enemies behind Viserys back.🙂‍↔️

Gary Brown

Also he didn't even inform Rhaenyra his heir about the negotiations in the first place. And your right if not Dragonstone then Driftmark should be the one administering the Stepstones if for no other reason distance plus Driftmark and Dragonstone both have experience turning mostly barren rocks into thriving island holdings.

Within the next 3-5 chapters is there a chance you will do a short time jump with some artwork of Rhaenyra and the children ?

zasha ktrystei

I didn't Driftmark because the island had developed, leaving behind Dragonstones their overwatch. So if any of the 2 need a cash flow its Dragonstones.

Viserys is utterly insufferable I really hope he ends up getting humiliated and brought down a peg...

Soooooooo this chapter was good but still hated Viserys. He basically striped Daemon of Stepstones for some no name bastard from Arbor. Yes, Daemon acted on his own but as i see it Daemon conquered Stepstones, then was crowned, then give up his crown to Viserys but still archipelago is his domain inside his brother kingdom. I mean it's like Summerhall or something. So Triarchy and Dorne try to invade Daemon domain, he repell this attack with his "bastard son" and allies and for that he gets striped of his territory. Well done Viserys....... PS: Am i the only one that got a feeling that Jon and Rhaenyra plan is to for Jon to cosplay Daeron I Targaryen?

NovaSoulless

Interesting...a way to get into Lys good books might just be to approach Saera... She should still be alive and thriving, Having her as a point of contact to turn Lys against the others of the Triarchy would be huge and would allow for potential allies that the Hightowers couldn't even hope to influence.

I wonder if they will end up bringing Dorne into the fold like it was done before, by marrying a Princess of Dorne to a Prince of House Targaryen.

TheWateringWizard

Ohhh that little tantrum from Qoren was cute… Viserys is such an insufferable idiot. First for believing that his peace talks were going anywhere with the Dornish (even though they sent a big ass fleet to attack the Stepstones) and then for stripping the Stepstones from Daemon on the recommandation of his bitch of a wife… and how was Daemon and Rhaenyra supposed to know that Vis was in peace talks with the Dornish?!?
