Chapter 34 of Delightful Duty, in which Daemon meets with an old friend, the royal family meets and discusses the upcoming wedding, Rhaenyra and company all return to Dragonstone, and Jon and Laena work to help their dragons get along better.

Short chapter but still essential for setup. I do think Jon should probably warn Rhaenyra before the meeting about some of the downsides of her alliance with Mysaria in the original timeline as while she was effective she also fed a lot of Rhaenyra's paranoia that finalized her downfall by the end (would love to know Rhaenyra's exact reaction to some of the mistakes she made back then should Jon bring them up if possible, between Blood and Cheese, her heavy handed punishments after seizing King's Landing, alienating both Corlys and Daemon, etc.)

But Jon is also not the most knowledgeable of this. As he said he mostly focused on battles and stuff as a kid, the intricacies of political maneuvering was probably not the highest on his list so he might not remember that stuff right away.

Maybe but the storming of the dragon pit was a pretty essential moment of the conflict and Rhaenyra's final downfall so he should at least have a general idea I think even if not all the details, and Mysaria was part of that (also the whole Nettle and Daemon debacle which led to the Battle Above the God's Eye would be something he'd have paid attention too since it was what led to the fight with Aemond and Daemon 's death)

Nice Chapter. Very nice setup for the next few chapters. Just a few ideas that come to mind for a few of plot threads first as to how Daemon should go about his vault campaign I think that Rhaenyra should convince Daemon that he doesn't need her to alter the Dothraki's minds to get the forces he needs for two reasons first she doesn't know if would even work and two she feels Daemon underestimates his own charisma and ability to bring together men for a good fight so she convinces Daemon to put out a call for volunteer forces to "assemble to retake Andalos from the Dothraki scumfor the pious second sons and warriors from the southern realms and for the North a promise of gold, a good fight, and glory". Mysaria should take Alys on as her student/second in command so that she can learn the ropes of running the spy network.

I mean he forgot the details of how Laenor died and that was generally noteworthy. He knows OF stuff but he might not actually remember the details. At least not right away. There might also

1 thing i was thinking about during the dinner scene is now that Jon will be Nyra husband & master forger he will need squire. And as they want to positively influence Aegon he should be the 1 of his squire.
