New Sales Tax Requirements, effective July 1st, 2020

On May 6th, 2020, Patreon announced that we are being required by law to start adding sales tax to more patron pledges starting on July 1st, 2020. This affects patrons in some parts of the US and 17 other countries ( ).

Thanks for sharing. Really sad that this is happening during this economic climate, I have a few other patrons I'm on $100-$150 tiers to and I'll definitely be looking to move to PayPal directly.

Yeah :/ It won't be everyone, so it'll depend on your location as well as the benefits provided by the creator. If you receive tangible benefits or access to streams, those will be taxed. Things like early access or bonus videos won't. So there's that :/
