Hi Everyone! This week we're finally releasing The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Extended Edition). We've swapped the place of the last two poll winners (Fantasy: LOTR, and Aliens). But fear not, Aliens will be coming out next week! This movie was SO EPIC! Right now Jordan and I are both reading "The Wheel of Time" book series, and soooo many times I wanted to shout out "That's just like in the Wheel of Time!" Hahaha. It's really fun getting to see all of these fantasy elements we read about, in action on the screen. So thank you for voting for us to watch a fantasy movie! We are both having a ton of fun with this trilogy!

I can't wait to watch along!

Noah Vogt

This is my favorite of the trilogy. I look forward to watching along. The sets and prop department did an unreal job on this movie. Every character's sword was made by a local New Zealand blacksmith. I love the attention to detail in all the costumes and sets. And Weta truly set a new standard in SFX with Gollum. IMO, this production team as never been matched.

damn it there is a difference between british and american question for you when they was chasing after mary and pippin and they stop the words spoken by the baddy is "we aint going any further until we've had a breather" can you tell me if its different to what you heard or the same

MaplenutsReact

Whooooa, so they're all REAL swords! I just kind of assumed they were prop swords made of something other than metal. That's so cool!

MaplenutsReact

Oh dang, not again! That exact line got cut from our YouTube edit, so I googled it, and the line is "We're not going no further......until we've had a breather."

scott osborne

so that part is the same from what can make out is that there are words that get changed only miner changes but it still makes the american version a little slow the footage is the same but not words every min or so i have to pause so yours catch up

scott osborne

the sets were built some are cgi like the birds eye views but if you watch the making of it you can see how they did it

scott osborne

ho my fav character is gimli and this is why when my family plays D&D im always the dwarf

Sir_Dalagad

Looks like the mustache leveled up for the second movie ;-)

Sir_Dalagad

The music is sooo good. I love that each faction has their own musical theme. It's very immersive to hear the theme of Rohan playing when the Rohirrim charge or Shire music when Sam is inspiring Frodo. So ready for Return of the King!

MaplenutsReact

Aww that sucks! I'm sorry it's not syncing up well. I really thought they would be the same!

MaplenutsReact

I love Gimli! I've never actually played a dwarf character in D&D, but one of these days I'll make one!

scott osborne

when you play D&D is it the board game or online

MotoDork

Tolkien was a linguist. He created all of the languages from real-world languages. The languages in these books can be learned and spoken. Christopher Lee could speak the language of Mordor.

MaplenutsReact

Oooo I'm definitely going to watch this! Thank you!!

MaplenutsReact

We just play with friends in person! We have a fun little group that's been playing together for a few years now :D

MaplenutsReact

You and me both! And I totally agree, the music in these movies is beyond anything I've ever heard. I would love to get the soundtracks on record!!

MaplenutsReact

I love that!! I wonder how many people out there can speak some of these languages fluently. Knowing the language of Mordor is especially badass haha

scott osborne

thats cool and sweet we do the same just family we mostly play it in the summer to autumn evenings for a few hours on a sat night my oldest brother always play DM and he always sets me up to walk in a huge room where a huge red dragon awaits me alone with some other things like goblins or skeletons the bastard he always does it to me

Noah Vogt

You're most welcome! Weta Workshop also worked on Peter Jackson's version of King Kong. That's another film you should consider for the channel. Another film where you can truly see Peter Jackson's, imagination and love for a character poured into a film.

MaplenutsReact

That sounds like so much fun! Though having to fight a dragon on your own sounds terribly difficult haha

scott osborne

it was very hard when i only had 50 hit points left and the dragon had like 500 hp + i had to roll a 18+ on a 20 sided dice to hit it and my battle axe was only a 8 sided dice so this is what i did i ran like hell i was lucky i rolled a 6 sided dice to see if the dragon had seen me you know odds or evens odds the dragon seen me even the dragon has not seen me i rolled even i was by my self because i was scouting a path for the group we will be start playing a again in a couple of weeks or so

MaplenutsReact

Hahaha omg yes, Ruuuuun! Oh nice, I'm excited for you to start playing again!

late to the game watching your reaction to this. fun fact though, i'm a music school dropout but my European art music teacher blew my mind by saying that the lord of the rings trilogy technically meets the criteria for being an opera, where each of the prevailing non-actor "characters" have their own leitmotifs in a larger non-destinct piece of music that traverses the whole story. For example the ring, the shire, mordor, isengard. All of these things have themes that interleave themselves with the music as they appear

Michael Short

I never get tired of the lord of the rings sound track. The Rohan theme is my favourite. I could listen to it on repeat and never tire of it.
