Love you guys, but still no STRANGE BREW??

N.T. Stars

I love that Matthew McConaughey's old age makeup is pretty complex and Woody Harrelson's is just "Ok, we took the wig off. You look old now" 😆

This one was so good. I agree with you guys, Rust is super pessimistic but every debate and point he makes makes perfect sense to me or has merit, especially if people need faith to act like a good person, then they are kinda shitty to begin with. I got with the interrogation scene that Rust already knew and was showing his partner what he said earlier about the preacher can get you to confess with just his words. Thanks for these!

2026-10-26 11:00 Curious if anyone else notices a white noise hum on the reaction recording? Is evident when not speaking. Could be my phone, seems to be super sensitive.

So I like the way the show shows Rusts low point as an ultimate surrender to harsh facts. Our myths, religions and story’s of why come from our ancestors tough and harsh lives. They needed to put in meaning to the pain and realities of that existence. Rust is at the far end of that spectrum almost touching it from the opposite side of a mirror dark.

one of my favorite quotes in all of TV "If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward then, brother, that person is a piece of shit." hits the nail on the head........So glad you guys are loving this and Rust

Yes! Love that line so much. A lot of what Rust says rings true.

MaplenutsReact

Agreed! And good point about the interrogation, I think you're right.

Oh! I'll look into this... If it is our recording then I'm so sorry! That would be super annoying.

Interesting how Marty's so good at deflection when he's afraid of being caught. He says Maggie has a penchant for self-pity and yet he's the worst for self-pity because it instantly gets him out of trouble

What Rust says about that last second... I don't think that this is pessimism. All our lives are full of love, of hate, of pleasure and pain. In our last moments, despite how much we want to or try to hold on by our fingertips... eventually we all have to let go. And in that last moment Rust believes he sees their relief. I think that that is kind of beautiful.
