MORE SPIDER-MAN!! 🕸I just can't get enough Spidey... especially Tobey Maguire Spidey! It's awesome how many different people have played him now, and yet I think they're all universally liked for the most part. It makes me wonder who you all like best as Spider-Man! No spoilers though, because I haven't actually seen Andrew Garfield as Spidey yet, I just know he has his own series of movies too!

Another great one, one of the best Spider-Man movies! Excited to watch!

Tom Holland is my favorite of the live-action Spider-Men. His age and energy fit the character best. Additionally, while I think Tobey is a great Peter Parker, and Andrew is a great Spider-Man, neither do the other half of the character as well for my taste; whereas Holland embodies both aspects of the character so well.

This movie is my favorite of the MacGuire/Raimi Spider-Man films. What trips me out is that the various Spider-Man films in general all have at least one aspect they accel at over the other 3 but, all feel somehow true to the character. Of all the various versions of his story, even the oh-so many comic iterations I have cluttering up my house, my favorite became the Sucker Punch Spider-Man games from Sony. It hits very different being inside the story with Peter. Highly recommend playing through them if you have time outside of all the reactions y'all post. If y'all are PC gamers I'd be willing to gift them to you on Steam just so you have them to check out sometime.

I heard it explained best like this: Tobey was a great Peter Parker, Andrew was a great Spider-Man, and Tom is great at both

Part of the success of "Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man 2" is the writing for the villains who have complex personalities and inner conflicts. The casting of actors with stage and film experiences are up to the task to bring their characters to life. Some of the actors already had Tony Awards for stage work before landing these roles. The fight sequences are well thought out and feature a combination of practical mechanical effects, puppetry, and CGI. Doc's arms were made to move as if they had a mind of their own. I like the reveal of Peter's identity over the course of the movie. I didn't expect to see this but I like how it was handled. The final shot gives the audience a sense of foreboding of what's to come.

I re-watched this film last year, and my primary takeaway was that I think Raimi's success with the first film really convinced Sony to let him "Raimi" even harder. The autopsy scene was legitimately horrifying, with so many little Evil Dead moments. I also remember loving the Rosalie and Otto relationship even more on the re-watch. Their performances are so natural that I can never help but believe I am just...watching a couple interact.

I dunno if you guys play video games if so I’d STRONGLY recommend playing Marvel’s Spider Man for play station. You actually feel like the wall crawler

Even though it's just 8 more minutes, I recommend the "extended" version called Spider-Man 2.1 which fills in a few gaps and extends a few fights and adds a very beautiful scene with Mary-Jane and her bridesmaids.

Not gonna lie, I think this is my favorite superhero movie. It has, like, everything: Tons of great drama, lots of superhero cheese, awesome effects, 4 freakin' unmaskings that are all impactful, a crazy good actor for the villain, J.K. Simmons' soul-cleansing laugh... I could go on and on. Hell, the scene where Peter saves the train might be the best in the whole Marvel universe. The only flaw is that the next door neighbor who gave Peter the cake is clearly a lot cooler than Mary Jane "Don't Disappoint Me" Watson. 😆

Aw wow this is definitely one of the most rewatchable and timeless superhero movies. The first one of course had an amazing origin story and an awesome villain but this is really elevated by the perfect portrayal of the superhero struggling with balancing the civilian life and the theme of responsibility. I also absolutely agree with others comments about the difference of Peter Parker and Spider-Man across the actors we've had. Molina as Doc Ock is so good and the action scenes are done so well considering when this was released, the train scene in particular is such a brilliant showing of a superhero stepping up. The first one did have New Yorkers distracting Green Goblin, but the train passengers carrying him aloft, keeping his secret and banding together to defend him always hits so hard. Looking forward to the wild ride that is 3, Andrew Garfields run and, if you're doing it, the absolute treat for the eyes that are the animated Spider-Verse movies!

That's such a kind offer! We are indeed PC gamers, but Jordan's actually played those Spider-Man games and looooved them!
