to answer your question, death said on ep 1 that these people already died, so she goes back to right before they died and gives yeejae a chance to try avoiding their deaths

I like that, even though it is only the 2nd episode, you can see the subtle influences of previous lives' knowledge and skill. The confidence and risk-takong of the skydiver and the analytical calculation of the TK heir (who had to out wit and out play the older brother to inherit TK). He needed both to deal with the bullies, but still lacks the understanding of how his actions affect others.
