Content Creators Don’t Create Anymore

I always enjoy your analytical/informational videos. I'm starting to wonder if we need to return to individual websites. What I mean is; the apps centralized everything, so the apps control everything. If we somehow manage a return to individual sites, creators could better manage their own content and get paid directly. Imperfect though, but just a thought.

I get so annoyed when I like a video only to realize the page doesn’t belong to the creator in the clip I just watched. I usually take back my like and follow the tag to the creator’s actual page, if they’re even credited.

More and more I find myself grateful I actually did have to go out and keep working during Covid cuz a lot of this stuff just never got me in that way. It still sucks I had to put myself at risk but at least it seems like I missed a whole lot of bran rotting

Ill be honest, i don't think content creation has gotten 'worse' like not in there, there isn't quality media. In fact, their is alot, god there is so much quality content on top of their being also ALOT of bad content. i think its the logical conclusion in terms of how accessible the tech and tools have gotten, also how affordable it can be to get a video editor in another country so you don't even have to do that. Youtubers have constantly made master classes on learning writing, 3d modeling, animation, blender and its cheap! I can go to udemy, or skillshare, or youtube itself LOL However again, there is a deluge of content. Both good and bad, to a point I have choice paralysis from too many options. One of my favorite channels too watch is Level1Techs and GamersNexus who have always done amazing detailed content, that can be rewatchable when I want to learn something. This is actually the same issue with like podcasts, since thats the way I consume like a vast majority of youtube content? There are SO MANY PODCASTS and not alot that hit the notes for me to get interested. Same thing with books, their are alot of good books and stuff out they are good but I'm not interested cause its not hitting the notes or I'm overwhelmed by how much choice I have or I just can't find the specific thing I want. So what to do? As an artist and fanfiction person it was very normal to read or see so many remix versions of stories and games, and crossovers that I don't necessarily bat an eye at content creators now starting to do this enmass because it is the easiest way to get attention rather than doing original stuff. Which begs the question to. We've been doing this ad nauseum, for... a long time when it comes to media. Is their a real solution to this when humans constantly work on finding ways to reduce friction or difficulty for creation? When the speed at which were able to do this is now is just insane? Like we were slower and the access to equipment was a pretty high barrier, now equipments cheap, classes are cheap, the speed you can pick these skills up is decreased cause of those same thing. I don't think there is a solution, since as soon as you gatekeep it, people will make a platform or find a way around it. Its just what we do
