Creator's Blog #1: One hell of a month so far... (Patreon)
Content
Hello Everyone! Just taking a bit of time to write this down as a way to communicate with everyone. I always considered this kind of interaction down the line, so this may be the start of a new blog chain to share some of my thoughts on all this.
Good Month Start :), Bad Month End ):
Well, to top it off, this month of June is rather... Happening, if I should say so myself. The first half of the month was rather smooth sailing and normal, given that my full-time work is rather relaxed at the moment.
However, quite a big event happened recently, or a week back, that required my father to be brought to the hospital for emergency treatment. I won't share many details on what happened, but please know that he is fine now and very lucky that he went in early.
Naturally, this delayed a few things, such as the new Guardian skit I had planned to finish earlier. But due to the care I had to take for my dad, that ended up being delayed and rewritten in some parts.
I do apologize for the wait for a new YT Skit, as it is a rather big effort at times due to the number of scenes I create for each one. But if all goes well, I should have it ready soon-ish. (At least I hope so. I am a sucker for perfection on these things >_<)
Godless Age... My beloved...
Ah... Now, to address the elephant in the room. TGA's last update was... Almost a year ago O:
I really do apologize for this, as I felt I needed to take a bit of space to think through the overall plot and the changes to make since the release of Nightreign. And with the upcoming Elden Ring movie, I expect even more changes when it does.
And there's also the stress from work that contributed to the delays themselves. Many times I simply sat in front of my screen with the doc open after work... Only to sigh loudly when looking at the time...
But to address the issue, I want to let everyone know that I do not intend to give up on the story just yet, until I think it is at a point where I can't continue for my own sake. It's my goal to actually finish TGA, even if the endpoint is really years away... (omg, I'm barely halfway done D: )
That being said, the next chapters for LFTN are coming soon, and the next two episodes are as follows:
The need to do more...
Like everyone else, there comes a time when I tell myself,
"Maybe I should try something else?"
Which is why you all have seen many things come from this page, as well as the content that I am releasing.
First off were the Space Marine armors; I had wanted to do them for a VERY long time, but lacked the means due to modeling constraints. Thankfully, I had help from a fellow creator in creating a suitable body morph as a base to work on. Hence, the first release for the Mark 8 was made, and I hope you all are ready for more to come :).
And on the creative side, I previously polled you on Original Content. Naturally, it seems there is interest in that, so I would move forward with exploring it in that realm. Be it comics, renders, or fics to write. Some I had in mind are:
An Adult Drama comic with some NSFW
A NSFW Fantasy comic inspired by another creator's work
A Warhammer 40K Comic series (That's why I was interested in converting the Marines.)
Of course, these are ideas, and subject to my own time and interest. They may happen; they may not, but in some cases, there is something to explore.
As for the writing side, I had tried my hand at writing something new as well. Not TGA-related, but rather a story that takes some creative output from my childhood.
Some Patreon Updates and such.
Ok, now that the muses are out of the way, let's talk shop.
Recently, I have made changes to the Patreon Early Access model to make the memberships more attractive, among other things.
But again, I want to stress that the majority of the converted assets will be free after their early access. And to access them when released, you must join as a free member.
Apparently, this confusion persists, so I hope this addresses it. Simply join as a free member, and all the released DAZ Content is yours to access.
And commissions are also updated to include animations and DAZStudio conversions if you are interested. Word of warning tho, I think my animation skills are still lacking, but I hope to create something that you like if you do commission me.
As for the DAZ Content being made, I am happy to say that I am almost finished with all the Nightreign armors! (Lest Guardian's base model, I can't convert that >_<). After which, I will convert more of the base Elden Ring's sets and more Souls games down the line.
I hope Lords Of the Fallen 2 has their assets easy to extract too when it releases, a lot of banger designs based on the current footage.
And expect more HD2 and Elder Scrolls Ports to come. :) I have been itching to get back to it with the last HD2 warbond, and I think I have neglected Oblivion's ports for a while now.
To sum it up.
If you have read things up to this point, then thank you for coming to my TED talk :D
I understand that waiting is tough, and I truly apologize for that. I often think that I am lacking all the time in the world to finish anything, and when I do finish one, another comes to mind.
That being said, the support I have gathered so far from the following is rather nice. I am happy that people are seeing, reading, and using my stuff. It's nice to make things for a change rather than stand on the sidelines like I used to.
And to wrap things up, I want to let you all know that I am ok. Despite the events that I have mentioned above.
But as things stand, I want to let everyone know that a big change for me is coming by the end of the year, something that I wanted to pursue for a long time; even so, I will continue the work.
Welp, I have rambled too much. I hope the rest of the day and year go smoothly for you.
Cheers,
Ed
