Resurrection of Medical Special Care (Patreon)

I kind of disappeared after the last post, and it wasn’t because I was taking a break. This past week has been really busy… so let me tell you the story briefly and in order.

Thanks to your support, I was able to upgrade my PC a bit for faster rendering of images and videos. Version 0.8 was about 15% ready, everything was going smoothly. I decided to take the PC to the “professionals” to get it cleaned, add more RAM, and improve the cooling system.

As a result, these so-called “experts” permanently erased the entire SSD — the whole game M.S.C., all the models, scenes, locations, renders, videos, everything. It was a nightmare.

Recovery didn’t work, but luckily I had previously exported the “scene” files from version 0.6. Using those and the log files, I spent the whole week rebuilding the lost data. The good news is — I managed to restore the essentials, yay!

Next came all the key female characters, and then the male ones!

As for locations — for now, only a few are back, just the ones needed for version 0.8. This update will be the final release of Part One of the game, and I had originally planned to make it more intimate in scale. I also wanted to add “flashbacks” to the whole game in version 0.8, but unfortunately that would take way too much time to rebuild. So I’ve come up with a different approach — the flashbacks will now appear in the next part of the game.

(Unfortunately, all the work on the prison arc was also lost, but I’ll be able to rebuild it from scratch later — and make it even better.)

I’m writing this post right after rendering the very first image of version 0.8. Over this past week, I’ve gotten into a strong rhythm and also learned a lot about optimization. I’m not stopping now, so the release won’t be delayed too much.
