I haven't watched your reaction yet but I was waiting for this. Glad to see The Apothecary Diaries is back.

I don't know if it was deliberate but it doesn't appear that you read any of my comments on Season 1 Ep. 24, just in case you missed them by accident. I had been trying to catch up to you so most of my comments for the entire season were rolled up in that one main comment (plus some replies to other comments). ................ So I don't know if you noticed but Maomao the person and Maomao the cat have names that are pronounced the same but have different characters. The person has a name that's basically cat-cat, while the actual cat has the name paw-paw. .......... Not much else to comment on, see you next episode!

Back to Peak, So far season 2 has been great. The OP is done by the vocalist from YOASOBI

Nice, season 2 let's go! On teaching Xiaolan to read, yeah most languages in China are written with the Chinese characters called Hanzi. So I imagine it would be pretty difficult to go from being illiterate to trying to write your name, the characters can be rather complex. The Japanese Kanji characters are based on these same Chinese characters and many are even the same, so like Xiaolan, Maomao for example are recognizable from learning Japanese even if the readings/pronunciations are different.

Took me a whole day to get to it but FINALLY am now at least! Also don't blame ya for thinkin it was Yoasobi doing the OP, even ignoring the vocals it might as well be an honorary Yoasobi song, considering how many unnecessary key changes and weird instrumentation choices it has EDIT: oh it IS Yoasobi's singer LOL
