Interestingly, a lot of this episode was animated by the "bones c team" who do a lot of work on regular MHA. Including a lot of s7. A lot of people see them helping on vigs is a good sign s8 is going well. Since otherwise they wouldn't have the time. It's like when the mob psycho team helped with some of my hero s6 because they had the time. Good episode. Should be getting into the big arc of cour 1 soon.

If some videos from asians descendant on youtube tell me something, is that Koichi's mom is the archetype of the asian mom, caring but always harsh and over protective. If you've seen Turning Red or Everything, everywhere all at once, you will see my point. So more than a terrible mother, I think it's more a cultural thing. Also, even if Makoto was trying to find the truth, I think she also enjoyed palping Knuckle Duster. If you recall, when she is first introduced, two of her friend make a joke like she's going after younger men now, so they might implied that she have a thing for old dude lol.

A couple things from the main series that were from earlier seasons... 1. Nezu is an animal with a quirk, though it's also implied he was experimented on. I'm guessing animals with quirks normally have very weak ones but it was on trigger here so it was stronger. Sadly, this isn't explored much 2, tenya used to drink those orange drinks a lot in early seasons. I don't know if it was explicitly said in show, but yeah the iida family uses juice for fuel. And apparently it's different juice per person. Iida used orange, his brother used grape. Unless it's just a taste preference.
