“Debuhi” is a playful or silly word meaning “fat” or “chubby,” so the Ryo found it hard to take the empire’s name seriously

My comment said "don't quote me on this" I didn't think you'd take it as fact. I think its been 20 years, i might pop over to the manga to actually figure it out. My source of information was a random comment on a different reaction to water magician, they claimed to have read the manga so i assumed they were correct but I'm going to confirm that soon.

Ahh, apparently they seemed to have glossed over it in the anime, but the comment said that in the light novel 20ish years have passed between him getting to this world and when the red head washes up on shore. The anime could still mention it but if you don't consider his age before he died a spoiler it will be below in the form of a math question so u don't accidently read it. thirty - fifteen + five (technically he was one year younger when he died but his birthday was the next day)

Last comment i promise, lol. He actually uses incantations simply because he thinks they sound cool XD so when he said two different ones for the same thing i think he was more embarrassed about the fact he was making them up, not that he didn't need them, i still feel like that revelation of "everyone else needs incantations" hasn't happened yet. I could be wrong though. The reason our mc didn't like the name Debuhi for the empire is because "debu" means Fat/Chubby in Japanese. I can see why he said he wouldn't want to say the words "I'm from Debuhi" lol.

or was michael right at the time and 20 percent became 50 percent after decades lmao

Anthony

didn't he say 50% of the town could use it , doesn't mean humanity, Michael in the beginning said only 20% of humanity can use it.

sorry catching up and 1. im almost positive abel is the red headed child from the first episode thats looking over the wall so the ~20 years tracks 2. i cant remember if its legit but i saw somewhere the background is almost meant to look like a water colored painting 3. he got isekaid he might just think "im not aging time must not be passing" 4. could just be lucky that 50% of an adventurer town can wield magic
